martinsuper Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) So, I made a plan that I would buy one cannon battle and one soldiers arsenal a week. Well my problem has been that Cannon Battle is always sold out at Wal-Mart and Target. Wal-Mart's LEGO section is pretty sad, and usually they only have the island set, and sometimes the raft, but thats it. Target has a great LEGO section, but Cannon Battle is always sold out. So, I finally decided to go to Toys-R-Us. The only reason I usually dont go to them is because their prices are ALWAYS higher. For instance, Cannon Battle is 5.99 at Target, but 6.99 at Toys-R-Us. Soldier's Arsenal is 3.50 at Target, it's 6.99 at Toys-R-Us!!! So I went to Toys-R-Us and no surprise they had plenty of Cannon Battle. I told them about their high prices and they told me they would not price match. HOWEVER, they have a deal that if you buy $50 or more of LEGO they will give you $10 off. So, the manager told me to buy 10 cannon battles, and they would match Target and Wal-Mart's price. I don't know if I am the only one who has struggled to find Cannon Battle, but maybe this will work for you?! Edited June 10, 2009 by martinsuper Quote
Hound Knight Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 That's nice to know Martin, thanks for sharing it with us! The Target here has tons of Cannon Battles, too bad yours is sold out always. Quote
martinsuper Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 You know, I think its funny that you quote Perry, and yet he was a great killer of Red Coats! -Super Quote
Dr. Steve Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) I had the same problem with target and walmart. When TRU first got them in November '08, the cannon battle was $5.99 and they put it up to $6.99 just before xmas. I am lucky because Lego just opened a store in my town and they have plenty of cannon Battle and Soldiers Arsenal Edited June 10, 2009 by Dr.Steve Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I imagine you just toss out the Redcoat and keep the cannon! Quote
General Armendariz Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I imagine you just toss out the Redcoat and keep the cannon! He probably uses them for his soldiers shooting ranges Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 He probably uses them for his soldiers shooting ranges Heaven knows the bluecoats need the practice. I imagine the redcoats probably die of boredom waiting for a bluey to find the mark! Quote
martinsuper Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 Now now! Without bad guys, my good guys wouldnt have much fun!!! I have to say that since Harbor Sentry, Cannon Battle its my absolute favorite set. The cannon is self-explanatory, the red coat is added to "invasion force", and I usually use the pirate as a crew man or dock-hand. He doesnt really look like a pirate to me as much as a worker. I always need plenty of Red Coats for some diaramas Im working on. I just file away the other pieces into my LEGO bins. It just would be extremely cool if blue coats same back and their was an updated blue coat set like this. Quote

Kothlis Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 This is a great set. My Walmart has tons of these, plus the Loot Island set. But they are totally outnumbered by the cartfuls of Thunder Drillers they have. Quote
Oky Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Interesting. I don't think my TRU has that deal. Perhaps it's just a local and/or highly limited time offer? Quote
martinsuper Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 Interesting. I don't think my TRU has that deal. Perhaps it's just a local and/or highly limited time offer? Maybe yes or maybe no? Its worth a shot to ask. I know how popular this set is with adults, so I can only imagine kids, who love mini-figs and cannons (like I did as a kid) love this set. The other things is that Cannon Battle costs about as much as a GI JOE, so now parents have a cheaper alternative to buy for kids that expensive LEGO sets. Quote
Ratshot Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I have the same problem. Zellers is always sold out, TRU wants $9.99 Canadian for a cannon battle and Wall-Mart doesn't carry them. I might get TRU to match Zellers. Quote

Edmond Dantes Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I am new to this forum, so please excuse me if I am breaking any rules, but here is some advice: If anyone is in the states, go here: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...cn=554&d=70 , add four cannon battle sets to your cart and then during checkout, select standard shipping and input bscd29 in the Catalog/Promo Code box. Standard shipping on anything $24.99 or less is $4.95 and the promo code takes off $5.00, so you'll get free shipping and each Cannon Battle set for $5.98. No tax, currently in stock, no shipping and all it requires is a credit card. You'll have to sign up for an account though. Quote
