Davey Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Okay...so I need some help. I need a way to keep the Exo-Force Light Brick lit continuously for the Brickworld World of Lights display. I saw the Brickmodder's switch mod for that brick...but I don't really want to modify the brick itself. I'd like to find a way to build a brick-built switch or holder for the light brick that forces it to stay lit all the time. Something where you wedge it in place and a stud or something actuates the switch on the brick. Has anyone ever tried this? If so...do you have pictures of your setup? Any help would be greatly appreciated and would save me a lot of work wiring MOC's up. Thanks, Dave ToT-LUG Quote
Tom Bricks Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Is the light brick the same one in the new Agent set? I have that one but no exo-force sets. Quote
xenologer Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Look at the official instructions for the first year Exo Force mecha, they had a little lever on the back that you pulled to activate the light brick. I'd imagine you can modify that, maybe as simple as a rubber band to hold the lever down. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Changing the positioning of a switch similar to the mecha mounted switch is the best I ever came up with (ok, so my problem was creating a switch that didn't keep it on all the time...) I second the elastic band idea too. Quote
Brickthing Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 How big is the model you want to use it with? If it's big enough, I'm sure you could conceal a weighting mechanism in the model to keep the button pressed, which may work better than a rubberband, because it won't wear out. However, if you plan to use it for a display, it would be better to mod the brick or use a different light so that you can have an external power source, because the little battery of the Exo-Force light may not last for so long when it's always on. Davey Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like I'll take a look at the first year Exo-Force sets and try the rubber band idea. I only need it to be on for about 1-2 hours at a time and would like to avoid any external power source if possible. Thanks again for the ideas! -Dave ToT-LUG Quote
