Mariann Asanuma Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) I don't know if anyone has seen this yet or not. But Joe Meno of BrickJournal pointed this out to me and I thought I'd pass it along. The LEGO Model Shop in Enfield, Connecticut has created a LEGO Buzz Lightyear model. June 3, 2009 -- Las Vegas, NV -- A 5'3" LEGO model of Buzz Lightyear, constructed from 40,000 LEGO bricks in 250 hours by 3 Master Builders, was unveiled by Disney Consumer Products at the Licensing International Expo to showcase the excitement "building" around the classic Toy Story franchise. Disney will support the franchise with the re-release of the first two movies in 3D for a two week engagement this October, a third new movie in summer 2010 and a spectacular consumer products line. More pictures can be seen here I also wrote more about it on my blog if you are interested. Enjoy! Edited June 9, 2009 by LuxorV Replaced broken link to the pic Quote
Tom Bricks Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 At fist I thought this was going to be one of the new sets. I can't wait for the Disney line hopefully they bring it to the Lego store in Disney World because then I can see it in person. Quote
Oky Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Dude! That is freakin awesome! It looks perfect! I really hope they will have one in the Lego Store in Downtown Disney here! Man, I would do anything to have one of those for my home! Quote
ILikePi Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Oh yes. Oh YES! I saw this over at BrickHorizon a week ago, and I thought that it was just a one foot tall model or something. I didn't know that it was that huge! 5' 3" is just a bit shorter than me. It would be great if that would be be given out at a contest or something... Edited June 9, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
prateek Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 it looks pretty good, so much lime green 5'3" would suit him if he were life size so kudos on that Quote
Batbrick Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Superb! Very well built, I especially like the self satisfied smug face he has, as well as the "Lightyear" detailing. Can't wait for a Buzz Lightyear figure, I hope it comes with a new bubble helmet. Batbrick Away! Quote
Eskallon Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Wow that is pretty cool, I think the disney theme will be good in lego especially the toy story. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Nice one! I love how from a far away distance, it would look like the one from the movie, not built from Lego! I'm hoping to see some good sets from the Lego/Disney fusion! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Wow, that is a great model, thanks for sharing! I wonder since Lego got the Disney license, if we are going to see toy story sets. Quote
