Ewok Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Hi! Do you have a Nerf gun? I've bought today my first for 9,99€. I've got a small one with a laser light. I like it really and I think I'll buy another one! I think the Vulcano is the best but the DC.-6 is also cool. How do you like them? Ewok Quote
Skipper 24 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I don't have any of these Nerf guns but have seen them in stores before. I prefer Airsoft which are replicas of real firearms and fire BB's instead of darts (?). Quote

ILikePi Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 (edited) I used to buy Nerf guns, but stopped in 2006. I have a (broken, but still works) Maverick (blue version), the Unity Power System thing, a Secret Strike, and a Reactor (ball launcher). My brother has a Longshot, Nite-Finder (the one with the laser sight; grey version), and another Reactor. I probably won't be buying anymore, as they are pretty useless, and I just started to buy lots of LEGO sets starting last year, so I need to save my money for them. I would rather get a laser tag gun, since the guns cost about the same as a large Nerf gun, but they're much cooler. My favorite Nerf gun is the Scout. I like them too. I have 2 old Maverick Rev-6's, and one dart tag pistol.I might buy the one with the the laser once.. I wouldn't recommend buying the $10 laser one, since the laser is really weak, and only half of the darts you put in actually fire. Most just pop out when you put them in. HumanPackMule Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I've got a few Nerf guns (Recon, Longshot, Titan AS-V1 missle launcher+system, Maverick, and a few more). The problem is that whenever I have company, young kids always lose at least four darts I've considered buying one of the modded Nerf guns off E-bay, just to see how the kids would act if they shot each other with them Quote
Davey Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I've got a small arsenal at my house. I've got two Mavericks, two CS-6 Recons, two long-shots, and an EBF-25. Here's a picture. I probably won't buy any additional ones. I bought them to participate in an upcoming 'NERF Assassins' game I am setting up. I was going do do an assassins game at BW 2009...but I didn't have time to set it up. Next year... -Dave Quote
daxflame680 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Oh, just about a year ago, Nerf was my obsession. Then, LEGO took the spot that Nerf had. I really don't understand what I liked about it anymore. The quality of the guns were crap. I still have nightmares about when I bought this thing. Quote

I prefer Airsoft which are replicas of real firearms and fire BB's instead of darts (?). Sure, Airsoft fires faster and better, but if a BB hits you it hurts more than a Nerf gun Dart. Davey Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Wow, cool collection! I like the vulcano best The Vulcan is nice...but really heavy. It's not really a good 'mobile' or 'stealth' weapon. It's best used to defend a key physical point. Like if you had a fort where you were guarding a flag or some prisoners...it could go there. Think of it a a 50 cal. It really needs to be setup somewhere to be effective. It's still fun as heck though. -Dave Quote
ILikePi Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Some people at Mana Energy Potions made some crazy modifications to the Vulcan: http://www.manapotions.com/Chaingun.html http://www.instructables.com/id/The_Ultima...erf_Vulcan_Mod/ Quote
M. Lupin Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) I've never owned a Nerf, but it looks interesting! Some people have modded them in a steampunk style and as ILikePi mentioned, improved the mechanics slightly. This could be fun to do as a weekend project sometime. I prefer airsoft mainly because of the accuracy and being able to notice when you're hit, rather than it glancing off your shoulder and you not knowing that you're "out". Edited June 7, 2009 by M. HumanPackMule Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) Many of the modded nerf guns seem pretty cheap on E-bay. Might be worth picking one up sometime and terrorize some neighborhood kids with it. this one this one Btw, welcome to the addiction M. Lupin Edited June 7, 2009 by Arthas Quote

I prefer Airsoft which are replicas of real firearms and fire BB's instead of darts (?). I had a pistol but I can't find it. I also have a broken shotgun and a rifle with scope. I love to hit cans. It also comes in handy for getting those pesky opoussoms out from under your deck. Quote
