Hey, I'm going about making a small Classic Town street, as well as using some new elements. I know about 4-wide cars and such, but I have some questions all the same:

1.) What style are the buildings. Example would be great.

2.) Any specific way they should be made?

3.) How would I go about making a Classic Tram? Examples/ideas would be appreciated.

4.) Any other tips you can provide.

Just need some information, so I thought I'd ask. I checked the Town index but nothing answered my questions...

Thanks, and I'll be sharing a small MOC in a few days!

In my mind 'Classic Town' refers to things like 4-wide cars, 6-wide trains, buildings that are open in back and very simple in design. Things like that. You're best bet is to look at official LEGO sets produced from the mid-80's to mid-90's. That was (IMHO) the 'heyday' of 'Classic Town'. I consider what most people build now to be 'neo-Classic Town' or the 'Modular Town Standard'. These would be things like the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer. I would also consider 6-wide cars and 8-wide trains to fit more in the 'neo-Classic' category.

Hope this helps.

That pretty much sums it up. I would also add that there are only basic colours used (No green/brown/tan/etc.), and the buildings are based on old style European architecture. I look forward to what you come up with :sweet: .

What you really need to know is how are you planning this out. Do you want tiled sidewalks or sidewalks from the baseplate? are you using gray roads or Green with gray pavement? Do you want open back buildings or closed back buildings? The choice is all up to you. It's your city, build it how you choose.
