Natman8000 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Here's another important question.Yellow or flesh? Flesh for me. Only licenced themes have flesh unfortunatly. It would be great to have in flesh though. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) According to flesh or not flesh minifigs I regrettably have to totally disagree with you! Flesh would be absolutely ! Flesh minifigs are only included in licensed sets until now - and I really hope that this will stay that way! Flesh is not bad - but the yellow color is the original color of minifig faces - and imo that is the best one since it shows no direct origin of the minifig plus it looks much more lovely. Nevertheless this is a very interesting discussion point you mentioned there. Klaus-Dieter Edited June 8, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 I just got an idea for a set they might make with romans: Legionairy camp! It could include a tent, 2 legionarys, a babarian and his horse. Plenty of excesories, like spears, swords, a standard some food, and a campfire. Quote

Emperor Claudius Rome Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Since there is a chance Fantasy castle might be over, both greeks and romans have a chance now? Quote
Adam Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I voted for Greeks - why? Because I sound like a complete jerk saying "Jupiter" instead of "Zeus." Quote
blueandwhite Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Since there is a chance Fantasy castle might be over, both greeks and romans have a chance now? I don't really see any connection. So far we only have rampant speculation that Castle is finished. On the other side of the coin we have a small contingent of fans who want a Roman theme. While either thing may happen, I don't see the possible end of the fantasy line as being an indicator that we might get Romans. Quote
Finnigan Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I don't see a connection between a potential end of the fantasy castle line and emergence of Romans either.... I voted for Greeks. I think the mythology alone would be interesting. Bring on the hydra and Medusa heads! I also think monsters vs. humans is more of TLG's style. I can't see Romans for the very fact that it would be human vs. human. Romans are known to most as conquerers and for their military prowess and we know that TLG shies away from military type play. I think it would be interesting to see a license for the Percy Jackson series. The movie is supposed to come out next year.... Quote

Romans are known to most as conquerers and for their military prowess and we know that TLG shies away from military type play. As long as it wasn't too detailed [like, as long as it's just wild stringy hair and not individual snakes] Medusa hair could be very useful indeed. I voted Greeks, as well. Sure, Rome has some interesting stuff, but people still remember 300 [spartans], not to mention there's enough mythology for five themes instead of one! If Lego wanted to go a more straight historical way, they could do the Illiad. If they wanted to do a story-driven and slightly fantastic theme, they could do the Search for the Golden Fleece/The Odyssey. Or if they wanted to go all out with crazy figs and wild fantasy, they could do the Olympian Gods [plus Hades and Dionysus!] Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 I think Lego needs a break from fantasy. Maybe make a more Realistic historical theme. And the perfect one is: Romans Quote
blueandwhite Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I think Lego needs a break from fantasy. Maybe make a more Realistic historical theme. And the perfect one is: Romans Is this a theme kid would want, or is it a theme that you want? I ask because I just can't see LEGO going full-on historical for a theme like this. Even the original castle lines were hardly what one would call 'historical'. I appreciate your passion for all things Roman, but I suspect that a Roman line (if one should ever be produced) would be more like the Viking or Fantasy line with a non-human adversary. Quote
Zorbas Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 My vote goes for a Greek theme. The main reason is that if TLG has no worries of mixing different historic periods together, the variety of sets and characters could be endless. The Labyrinth in LEGO form.... Quote

saberwing Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 (edited) I think the change that lego makes greeks/spartans is bigger, because lego doesn't make people fight people. i voted romans though. I would really like to see a roman army or caesar , but a minotaur, hydra or a Trojan horse would be pretty cool as well. Edited August 2, 2009 by saberwing Quote
Glacarcheo Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I think that Romans would be the best, due to the fact that they are much more badass than sissy poets. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I think the change that lego makes greeks/spartans is bigger, because lego doesn't make people fight people. Why not?! Until the mid-ninetees in the Castle themes always human fractions fighted against other human fractions. So why not in a Roman theme, too?! Klaus-Dieter Quote
Rijkvv Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 (edited) I hope a Greek-Spartan non-fantasy theme, but that is a small chance. Well, about the castle theme: it's true, but the current theme is about fantasy. The Pirates theme is non-fantasy however, so a Roman non-fantasy theme has a big chance I think. Nikau Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Well either would open great possibilities in new set design, particularly for buildings. A Lego Parthenon or Pantheon would be awesome and a trireme would be good too. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 It would be sweet if TLC made centaurs and minotaurs, but that would be the only reason I would want Greek. Gladiators would be cool, so I vote Romans. Quote
Nuju Metru Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I would absolutely love to see both, but Romans got my vote here. :) -Nuju Metru Quote
