Hinckley Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Wow, it was answered twice! Thanks. Now, I thought you said the Mayor was the only one who made decisions. This is the first I've heard of a town council. Who are they? *to Austin and Bulldog* I know Jethro said we should wait to ride the hand car until nightfall but Jeb seems to think it's safe now. Who do you trust more? I'm leaning a little towards trusting Jeb and Ruffy said he'd protect us if we went during the day. If we want to go now, and I believe only two people can take the hand car, I volunteer as the leader and I can take Ruffy with me... What do guys think about that?
Batbrick Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Thanks for answering the question there Jeb, sorry for bein' so persistent. I'm gonna go with Jeb, take it during the day. There's somethin' a little eerie 'bout these folk, but durin' the day you can trust your eyes and not some talkin' dog, no offense to Scruffy here. A thought occurs though, wouldn't a dog be much lighter than a normal person, isn't there a possibility to fit one more on? It's gettin' a little confusing for this Texan exactly how we're gonna plan this out partner. On that note, do we even have a plan? I've been sick and unconscious for a while now, but it seems to me we could be ridin' straight inta trouble.
I Scream Clone Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Well my legs are working fine. So those who can't walk but have the strength to use the handcar should go first and us able bodied people will walk along the tracks making the return trips shorter. So Herman and Austin should probably go first in my opinion. The other option is to make use of my "guns" making several trips a lot quicker!
WesternOutlaw Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 If we want to go now, and I believe only two people can take the hand car, I volunteer as the leader and I can take Ruffy with me... What do guys think about that? About four people can fit on the hand car.
I Scream Clone Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 About four people can fit on the hand car. Well the three of us are outer here, who is coming with us?
Stash2Sixx Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Not knowing where this thing goes, I think I'm gonna just keep my feet on the ground! I'll be waitin' here for you all to come back!
Hinckley Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I think we should see where it goes since there doesn't seem to be anything else to find here at the Farm. Let's the three of us go, with Jeb and Scruffy then, if they'll both fit.
Batbrick Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 About four people can fit on the hand car. Excellent news there partner, I can lay down while these here fellows make our passage! The other option is to make use of my "guns" making several trips a lot quicker! Well that's great news there Bulldog, because I'm sure you'll be great use making our single trip very fast I think we should see where it goes since there doesn't seem to be anything else to find here at the Farm. Let's the three of us go, with Jeb and Scruffy then, if they'll both fit. I'm in agreement Herman, lets be cautious, 'specially after all them injuries, not least mine. 'Course what's the plan ta return this thing? Who knows what's at the end of these tracks, but I'm betting whatever is, is a long way away, you sure yer up to haulin' yerself all the way back Jeb? If so, least I can do to make it up ta ya is to share some great get-rich-quick schemes!
WesternOutlaw Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 Herman, Jeb, Bulldog, and Scruffy jump on the handcar and begin pushing the sea saw mechanism that drives the car (up... down... up... down...) It starts out slow at first, then begins picking up speed. "Row - ris is run"!!! Scruffy says as he sticks his head up to catch the cool breeze. The handcar continues to go faster... "Is there any brakes on this thing"? Herman asks Jeb. Jeb responds, "nope -never got around to that, but isn't he a friend of yours"? (nothing like a good Brake joke ) EDIT: Insert Indiana Jones Temple of Doom scene here
MetroiD Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) Rut ro... rood thing I've still rot my relmet on! NOW you see wry you ralways need a rettle, Rerman! If we're on the rack which reads up the rountain, we should be rine... However, reading into rown at this speed rouldn't be a rood thing ro do... * Considers jumping off the handcar while there's still time... decides not to abandon ship yet. Or re could think of a ray of slowing this ring rown refore it's roo rate? Rettle-rimprov-braking perhaps..? Edited June 2, 2009 by TheOtters
Hinckley Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I'm horrified by the speed and I peed my pants a tiny bit, but I can't help but notice we've left Austin at the farm with Jethro! How odd that we decided to do that!
I Scream Clone Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I'm horrified by the speed and I peed my pants a tiny bit, but I can't help but notice we've left Austin at the farm with Jethro! How odd that we decided to do that! This is a most unpleasant turn of events! How will we get Austin back to the train oh voice in the sky? Now I think I remember how to use these hand cars, saw a infomercial once! I think Austin may have starred in it as well (on the bridge )
Batbrick Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 C'mon guys! This isn't funny! I can barely walk and yer takin' off on me! ... I think this Texan's gonna cry...
WesternOutlaw Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 With Austin left in the dust, the hand car (love that infomercial) continues rolling through the forest picking up speed as it travels down hill. There is a fork in the track ahead with a sign pointing in two directions. One part of the sign says DANGER and points to the right =>, the other says WILLOUGHBY and points to the left <= A yellow switching track device is coming up quickly and if the group has something to throw at it, you may be able to change the direction of the hand car (to right or left)... "What do we do"? Herman yells! "Ry Ron't Rink Ri Rike Ris Ride Ranyrore", Scruffy adds... Jeb begins quickly turning his decoder Ring.
I Scream Clone Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Well unless Jeb has a hand gun or corn cob in his pocket we need to throw Scruffy's kettle at the junction switch. I vote we head into Willoughby!
Hinckley Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 No Bulldog! The Danger side is just a decoy. Something important is there, a key to this mystery. I'm sure of it. The others are already searching Willoughby. I vote we hold on to our megablocks and our life points check out this supposed "Danger." I just know it's just trying to scare us away from something we need to know. We'll have to go back to get Austin anyway before we head to town? Who's with me. I hope I'm right... *Aims Johnson Rod at switch, preparing to turn towards "Danger"*
Batbrick Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 *With awesomely renewed strength granted by some sort of narrator, Austin's sickness leaves him as he stands up, wipes away his tears, and begins running, eager to catch his friends as fast as some well written analogy*
WesternOutlaw Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 *With awesomely renewed strength granted by some sort of narrator, Austin's sickness leaves him as he stands up, wipes away his tears, and begins running, eager to catch his friends as fast as some well written analogy* Jeb looks up into the sky, almost as if hearing a voice in his head. "I remember that show", he says, "think his name was Austin - Major Steve Austin".
Hinckley Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Actually, I don't want to throw the Johnson Rod. But I will throw the kettle. Which way guys?! I think we should go right!! Who's with me?
WesternOutlaw Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 The bright yellow switch is coming up soon. Only moments to spare...!
Hinckley Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I'm the leader of this group, so I choose right! Hold onto your Johnson Rods! *Prepares to throw kettle* Sorry Ruffy! *Takes kettle off of Ruffy's head* *Prepares to throw kettle*
WesternOutlaw Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Herman can not stand the excitement any longer and flings Scooby's Scruffy's kettle toward the yellow switch lever. He hits the lever perfectly causing the switch track to move to the right. The out-of-control handcar goes whizzing by the sign which you think may have been turned, after looking back at it. The hand car travels a pretty good distance before slowing down gradually along a level field. A fuel tanker can be seen on the tracks in the distance, before the handcar comes to a complete stop. "Wow! that was close", Herman says, "I think I may have wet my pants."
Hinckley Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 What do I mean think? I'm clearly soaked. So, a fuel tanker. Interesting. I'm going to inspect it before we start employing Bulldog's guns to power us in whatever direction we're going. Maybe danger, maybe Willoughby. That sign was looser than the screws in Helleanor's brain. That was funny and accurate. Fuel tanker...does the train need fuel?
Stash2Sixx Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Hmmm....Well, looks like it's me and the bugs again. "Ey Austin, wait up!"
I Scream Clone Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Herman you sure are skittish sometimes! Good aim on the switch, not so good aim in your drawers... Alright, lets take a look at the tanker then.
