Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I bought a whole bunch (12) of these for the port I am building. I am going to rework them and make them larger with different designs and colors, etc. But before I did that I wanted to build them all for the single purpose of photographing all 24 buildings together before they get all mixed up never to be seen together again...There is zero creativity in this but I still think it looks cool. Now I can tear them down and start to work on the fun part! Quote
Spyder Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Think you could share one? One other thing: what's up with that random green house? Quote
WhiteFang Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 You are making me feeling so jealous, by getting so many of these greatest sets in multiple context. Are you going to build a massive medieval town plan with different color variations in the future? Whatever the case, I am very impressed by the sheer amount of 12 x 10193 and the amount of time to construct these sets. It sure took you quite a long time to finish up this feat. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 what's up with that random green house? I switch green bricks for the blue in one set just to see what it looks like. I am building a big port town called the Port of Brick Royal. I am going to use all these sets to construct the village buildings but before I started custom work I wanted to build them all...on average it took 4 hours per set but I think I can build them know without instructions Quote
AFOL SF Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Impressive! We'll be looking forward to your town/port when it's finish. Quote
Tom Bricks Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Wow somebody has way to much time on their hands (but then again who doesn't). 12 of possibly the greatest lego sets ever. this picture is beautiful. You can also create a forest with 12 of those great trees and a huge population for your port. I am eagerly awaiting it. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 You really have wayy too much money right? It's cool to see so many of these awesome buildings together. You've made me very curious about the project you spoke about! No doubt I will follow the progress closely! Keep it up! Quote
Eilif Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Wow. The level of "rediculous" is exceeded only by my level of jealousy! Great job, and kudos to you for your patience. Best of luck on your pirate village. One question though, where are all the cows, carts, soldiers and vendor stalls? Quote
gogobig Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Nice. Mad props for your craziness here haha - $1200 for these sets . Looking forward to see your port. I just got mine yesterday. About 3.5 hrs to build it, but it is worth every penny! Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 One question though, where are all the cows, carts, soldiers and vendor stalls? They are sitting in bags in containers waiting patiently for things to begin to come together. I am going to put the port on two sheets of plywood but I can't begin the work of building the foundations until July/august because of a home addition project. My contractor is hogging the space I need so I am trying to build some of the buildings. All the little village accessories will find their way in the port and the minifigures have joined the 2000 others that make up the population. Quote
Homer33 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Incredible ! You're lucky, I have not had mine but it should not delay. You'll be able to create a awesome medieval village. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Mother Fudge! With spending like that, you can save the economy! Suddenly I feel broke for having to save up for just one AT-OT and Dropship. You're mean. Quote
Sandy Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 You know you can donate to charity if your bank account is really that overflowing, right? I'd be jealous of you even if you had just one of these sets, for I still have zero. Quote
blueandwhite Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 With 12 of them stuck together it looks a bit... unnatural. Variety is the spice of life. Seeing so many of the same buildings side-by-side looks too a bit too modern for my tastes. The market village is a great starting point for a village but the combination of 12 villages doesn't look quite right (IMO of course). Quote
Perterz Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Impressive pictures, I would love to see them customised into the port you're talking about! The green doesn't look to bad, I'm actually curious now how it would look in white.. I might try it out on 1 of mine :) I don't feel the need to buy 12 but I admit I ordered a 3rd one yesterday as a gift to someone special who wants it so badly but can't affort it. Good luck with the project! Quote
