DarthSion Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 If you can believe it, there is now a rumour for yet another star wars game, this time its a game listing for SW:BF Elite Squadron for psp and ds, but this time its showing up in the ratings list on ESRB. If true this now brings it to a total of 4 Star Wars games due in the next year, The third knights of the old republic game which is confirmed for pc and rumoured for console, battlefront 3, republic heroes which is confirmed for all systems including pc, and now this. http://au.psp.ign.com/articles/985/985238p1.html Quote

I'd say the Pc versions are easier to get illegally than 360/PSP/DS versions as well, i glad they didn't put it on pc because thats retarded. Quote

I just googled a torrent site, probably the biggest one, rockband for psp on this one site, it has 822 seeds, 1065 leechers, that's 1887 illegal copies. On Amazon (usa) its selling for $40, that's $75,480 DOLLARS in lost revenue, from ONE site. The 360 is microsoft, its just as easy to hack as any pc game, the psp and ds don't take much more. Quote

What's your overall point here? They shouldn't make any games on systems that can be cracked (I am guessing since you left it out, the PS3 is an inpenetrable fortress of security?) That's a smart business decision to exclude your numerous customers who actually do pay because a relative few don't. Movies are quite easily pirated both from the theater and on DVD, so I guess they should stop making them too? As for the games, I am interested in KotoR 3 and Battlefront 3. I do understand why they would release so many as well. KotoR and Battlefront were very high selling games so releasing them when they are done (within a certain time frame) is desirable so if they are finishedand ready in the same year they aren't going to hold one or the other back. And they are different games that likely appeal to different types of fans (not every SW fan likes all things SW). The Clone Wars game needs to capitalise on the show's current appeal so releasing it soon makes sense. The DS and PSP games appeal the crowd that has those systems and wants portable games so the overlap there is minimal. Quote

Maybe its because there is a rumour there will be a battlefront 3 for 360 and PS3, so that's why the ds and psp are getting this. I'm glad i got my free psp. Quote

In TFU type move, X2 ends up leaving the bad and joins the good, and it seems he ends up fighting his brother X1 who is still on the dark side. Skipper 24 Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Ok my voice on the game. I visited Youtube and after watching video I have decided that thjis game looks similar to the BF3 leaked footage. You can fly into space from the ground and then back etc. There appears to be a customization menu too like in Renegade Squadron. I wish they would make this for more consoles. PSP shooters are so hard that on Renegade squadron they added in a lock on target that would make you shots go straight to whoever you were locked on to. I think this game may turn out to be a flop but I'll probably still get it for PSP just to test it out. For anyone that think Battlefront 2 is a waste, did you know you can download new content? Well for PC anyway. There are modding communities out there who have added many features to the vanilla (stock) game. These include Localized leigons, play as different clone legions on different planets. A force Unleashed Game mode, Play as the characters from TFU in a Battlefront styled game mode. If they did production would still be in the fairly early stages I expect. Currently on their website they have two secret projects , X & Y. Could any of these be a 3rd Battlefront?
