Sir Wellington Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Hello all, I would like to notify you of an ebay member who seemed nice and always went through with deals recently scammed my father out of $100. My father was buying me 19 lego blue imperial soldiers as a nice surprise for me. He found a member selling these soldiers, the ebay members username was completenintendogames. Here is his profile link on ebay: http://myworld.ebay.com/completenintendogames/ Now it seems like he goes through with every order. He didn't with my father. He said he sent the items almost 1 month ago. The post office said that it was never shipped. My mother called Mastercard to get her money back but nothing happened. The guy got away with my dads money. He then finally sent the items, 2 days ago, and I received the box this day. Please be aware of what he might do. Sincerely, Classic Pirates Fanatic! Sir Wellington Quote
Natman8000 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Well, in the end you got the stuff. Who knows, maybe something happened that you dont know about. I looked at the sellers record, and there were 37 negitive comments! Why would your father bid on someone with such a bad history? Quote
Joey Lock Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 That might not be a something to worry about. I mean you did get your stuff. Even if you didnt, The police come down hard. Quote

Natman8000 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Then why would he say he sent the stuff almost a month ago? You never know! But it is the guys fault most likely, seems like a mistake to buy from him. I've had trouble like this on this site. Anyone know the wereabouts of member SkyOtic? Quote

Sir Wellington Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Ok I opened the box. A couple of torsos were in bad condition. Some of the legs were damaged. The Blue Imperial flag had the rings sticking out half broken. One of the feathers sticking out of the shako was cut. The boats were covered in piles of dust. On and on... Quote

Just file a complaint with Paypal. They'll rule in the buyer's favor in cases like this every single time. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Poor Natman. What'd you lose in the trade, dork? Either way, Sir Wellington, it is a mystery why he would say he shipped it, but then wait off until a couple of days ago. Either way, I'd say it was simply a bad deal. Quote
Millacol88 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 A person who posted before me said this seller had over 30 instances of negative feedback. Heres a tip: Buy from people who have sold A LOT of stuff, and who have an almost entirely positive feedback rating. Anything more than 5 or 6 negatives and I wouldn't buy from them. There are usually a lot of people selling one thing, so it is usually easy to find some one with perfect feedback, or close to it. Quote

Legoking Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 One time I purchased a star wars set on ebay. The guy never sent it. I got him reported, kicked off ebay and got my money back. Atleast you got what you had ordered. Quote

If the seller has more than 5 negative feedback, this should be enough warning to prospective buyers. The reason why the bid is low is because those who had bad experience are staying away from the auction. Quote
martinsuper Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I had a run in with a guy named Franklin_Delano_Bluth I don't now if that name is 100% right. But a few of his auctions even popped up on the ebay list! So what he does is list a bunch of cool old sets and says if you bid on multiple he will give deep discounts. So he might list an Eldelrado fortress, a Black Seas Barracuda, and then a bunch of smaller sets like Sabre Island and the Brig. Then, right before the auction ends, all the big sets disapear, and only the little sets "finish". A few weeks later, he will have another set of auctions, and those same big sets will be listed again. He uses the big sets to get attention to his small sets and jack up the price. Quote

That's nasty... really nasty... Can somebody do something against such tricks? I never had trouble with Ebay, but some friends of me did. It is really sad if that happens. Lucky enough everyone is too scared trying something like that on me! Quote

Zorro Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Reporting people to eBay never works. Although one would think they have a whole department on it, as such a large international company, I had to wait nearly a week for my response (on a similar case) that they couldn't do anything and I had to report it to my credit card company. PayPal on the other side helped me out once when someone maxed out my connected credit card on an online scammy software store. I had my money returned the next day! If the mother (eBay) would only do as good as its daugther company (PayPal)... Quote

But they only respond once you have spend the money. When you find someone on Ebay scamming, and you report it without being scammed yourself, you would think that ebay would want to protect their site better? Quote
kakarothusain Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 ya nowdays you will find many scammers on ebay so we should be aware of these scammers and do every deal by using our mind. Quote
