After going on Comicvine and re-reading Ms. Marvel #1, I've unfortunately realized that the Ms. Marvel series is going to be a 5 issue series with the arc being "metamorphosis". Can anyone confirm this or am I reading into this the wrong way? Perhaps the first story arc is metamorphosis and the title continues to release books monthly, which is what I'm hoping for.

As far as I was aware, this was going to be an ongoing series.Certainly a decent first issue too!

At the moment, I'm currently reading:

Giant Sized X-Men #1 - Uncanny X-Men #191

Siege TPB

Zenith 2000AD book one

D.R and Quinch, Definitive edition

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns

and some various Marvel What If? comics, extremely good, always a good excuse for death, destruction, and a high turn over rate for characters at a colossal scale, and always a good story, too.

I really loved it, and I have quite the standard for comics, what made you think it was decent? The art is so different and unique that I felt like it was a breath of fresh air to see, and the story line was very good, though I thought it could do with a bit more explanation and when Kamala "changed" at the end, I couldn't help but feel her line was a bit cliche and I was wondering how

she got her powers. I know the Avengers were a hallucination, but that doesn't explain how she got it and if it was actually a person who gifted them to her. Hopefully this is what the metamorphosis story arc will be covering. This and the fact that she wore a different costume in Point 1 makes me want to buy even more issues! Do we have an exact date of when issue number 2 will come out? I'd like to get it the first day it comes out, I'm not always so patient!

I thought the character of Kamala was really interesting and the non superhero aspects were great - how the family view her, what her "friends" think....well written. I guess your questions will be answered next issue....my only problem was the last page....if I knew how to do a "spolier", I would write more but I don't!!!

Well right next to the font, on the left, there's a green sort of window looking thing, that simply browsing your mouse over will say "Special BBCode" you just click on that, and then scroll down the options to spoiler, and type! Hope this helped.

Ah, thanks!

I just thought that the last page was a little too "safe". I understand that Ms. Marvel is an icon and her blonde hair etc are basically "her" but I thought that they missed a trick by just staying with her usual look but perhaps more glammed up. If that makes sense! What did you think?

Almost the exact same thing, except it wasn't enough to make me turn my head. I felt that

they shouldn't have changed her look completely because it sort of lost appeal to who she is, a Muslim character. Now being Muslim is just a word for her, it was a big part of Kamala's appeal, but now she's just a hot blond chick with no connection to the real Ms. Marvel. Though we'll all see eventually.

Ok, so I'm sort of in a tough spot choosing comics and Lego, obviously I like both. Scott Snyder's current run on Batman is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews, and I have to jump on the bandwagon on that one, it's great. Also, if you're interested in the Birds of Prey, it's had some pretty good arcs and though I haven't kept up with it in a while, it's pretty good for what it is. Right now I'm starting ot really get into Vertigo, the Sandman is (from what I've heard) one of the best comics out there, I'd pick it up instantly! Also, I just might be picking up Fables or V for Vendetta soon and "report" here when I do, I'm hearing nothing but good things from Vertigo, and Image seems like a major hitter too.

The main publisher for me at the moment is Image, without a shadow of a doubt. Saga, The Walking Dead, Invincible, The Manhattan Projects, EGOs etc.

Yeah, I'm currently reading Batman - as I have done for many a year! - and all the titles linked to him. The Wonder Woman title is really enjoyable as is Animal Man.

On the Marvel side, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Avengers.

Sandman has been great for years tbh. Never picked up Fables, only ever seen the covers!

I recently started reading a new webcomic: JL8. It's quite possibly one of my favorite webcomics these days. The art style is appealing, the DC universe references are remarkably well-played, and of course it's full of lots of heartwarming moments. There are 87 pages so far; and I recommend anyone who's a fan of DC Comics superheroes in any capacity to read through them.

Ok so I know it's not exactly a Eurobrick's type of thing to quote someone on something they said 2 years ago, but thank you. You were last online today, I think that makes quoting this alright (it's not about opinions, so I don't think I can get in trouble for something someone could have changed their minds about). This comic is great, I'm only on page 105 or so, somewhere in the early 100's, but it's very good. Seriously, anyone who knows anything about Sandman (or how to use Google) or is a true DC fan and can catch all of the comics little references, will love this. I can't wait to finish it off!

I had a read of A v X. I'll leave it brief, I found it very good but, I felt they dragged it out too much. I felt AoU suffered from lack of expansion, it seems Marvel messed that up, IMHO it should've been the other way round. On other news, off topic, while rereading The Thanos Quest and The Infinity Gauntlet, I happened upon something stunning in issue 4 of TIG, AKA Thanos v everybody and Thanos wins. When he disposes of Nova, he turns him into "Children's Toy blocks", something similar to Lego. He then stamps on them blocks, without screaming. So folks, you too can be cured of "Lego foot", you just need a golden size 18 boot and an Infinity Gauntlet....

I absolutely love The Infinity Gauntlet...so many great pages. A v X was a let down as is pretty much every other "versus" title that's ever been released.

I'd forgot how good them comics are. Issue four's always been my favourite, the battle is possibly my favourite comic battle, ever. Extremely entertaining to see how he takes out each and ever one of the remaining heroes, and just when you think Thanos is finished, when the Surfer swoops in, he misses. Great, legendary, comic series. The Thanos quest before TIG is IMHO on par with the Gauntlet, Schemes And Dreams and Games And Prizes, the art, writing, and inking is fantastic, though it seems the price for them has gone through the roof. I found The Infinity War and Crusade good, but never as good as the originals. To stay on topic, is the latest series "Infinity" any good?

Definitely! Starlin, Perez and Lim nailed it with that. And yes, I'd agree with you too about the battle, I think it's my favourite as well. Regarding Infinity, I prefer to read the whole lot in one go - especially as it was 40+ comics AND leads into the new Inhumanity storyline - so I haven't read it yet.....but I did finish getting them all late last night so (as I'm ill) I'll get cracking on them a little later. Hickman wrote them so I suppose they should be pretty good but will it match "Gauntlet"....I doubt it! What else do you currently read?

Posted

I'm currently making my way through Chris Claremont's run available through the Marvel pocketbook series, some What If's? and a couple of 2000AD series. Really loving Claremont's work, I forgot how enjoyable his run was. Thanks about Infinity, I normally steer clear of these huge multi parters, but from the sound of it I'll make an exception. I thought I was the only one who read while ill, I got through about 25 graphic novels when I was in hospital, and about a dozen more when at home afterward. I'm also looking into old man Logan, I love alternative reality stories, and it sounds interesting.

Posted

Ah, I do love a good What If! Yeah, I enjoyed Claremont's run on Excalibur and X-Men. No, it helps forget I'm ill, although I've only got man flu and nothing as bad as going to hospital like you. Never read that, I find half of what Millar does to be pretty good whilst the other half is awful and I'm not a massive fan of Wolverine.....*waits for abuse*!!!

Posted

Oh, I'm not expert, so I can't say a thing on Wolverine. I loved Millar's work on the Ultimates and Ultimate X-Men, really refreshing and different though. What's been your favourite What If's? if you don't mind me asking? I'm still working my way through, but if I had to choose I've really enjoyed so far What If Phoenix had no died?, What if Cable had destroyed the X-Men?/What If Magneto took over the USA? two part, What if Iron Man had been trapped in the time of King Arthur?, and What if the Avengers Lost Operation: Galactic Storm two part? I've been flicking backwards and forwards through them, hence the jumbled order.

Posted

Yeah, true, those were some of his better works. Like you, I flick through them in no order - it's quite nice sometimes!! From what I can remember, I like the Cable/Magneto two parter too. Also What If The Avengers Fought The Kree War Without Rick Jones and What If Professor X Had Become The Juggernaut. I do like the House Of M storyline so the What If issues featuring that, I enjoyed. Also, What If The Alien Costume Had Taken Over Spider Man and What If The X-Men Had Lost Inferno. Probably more too but I can't remember them right now!!!

Posted

I just had a reread of the Inferno one, really enjoyed it. A bit drastic in the end, but still fantastic. I'd never read House Of M till a few days ago, I wound up with the first few issues and after reading them I'm after the graphic novel. Surprising that I've never read it before as I really enjoyed Avengers: Disassembled and it ends up being pivotal in another favourite of mine, Exiles. Once finished, I'll have to look up the "What If?".

I started reading comics 3 years ago, right before the New 52 started.

Mostly read New 52, Marvel Now, Saga, Revival, Lazarus, X-O Manowar, TMNT, Transformers and Star Wars.

After a while I noticed my backlog became a little bigger than I expected, so I cancelled my pull-list. Right now I am reading all my floppies and trading everything to hard/paperback.

Like reading about all the collections, but I would really love to see some pics if possible!

I'm reading the New 52 Aquaman series and I'm really enjoying it. The art is great and the characters, especially the Others, are very interesting. I've just finished the Others story line and I'm about to move onto the Throne of Atlantis arc! Geoff Johns did a really good job at making Aquaman 'cool'!.

I also purchased the Joker #1 Villian's month issue. It was a bit silly, but I enjoyed it :sweet:
