BlueBard Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I bought the amazing Creator Set 4954 some weeks ago, inspired by some MOCs found on Brickshelf, and I decided to renew most of the buildings in the City display I'm preparing. Between those buildings it was a small garage for one of the corners but I was not very pleased with its look, specially the exterior, and desperately needing for tan and black bricks for a flower shop I'm also preparing I dismantled it yesterday. I think I'll re-design it in the future for the main display (those poor mechanics would need a job! ) but for the moment I just wanted to show you my first attempt: Exterior: And interior: Thanks for watching, and comments are welcome! Col. Brik Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Nicely done. Change the minifigs head and it could be mine visiting the store :) Quote
Bartram Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Good work. I like how you have the different labels/signs around the front. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Very nice BlueBard. I really like the detailed images of the garage, esp. the way you photographed them. Great job! Quote
BlueBard Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Thanks for the nice comments, people! BTW Col. Brick, if you want I could put your avatar in one of my MOCs, I have all the elements Quote
Eilif Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 This is great! In particular, your solution for a brick-built roll-up security door is brilliant. It's a very clever way to easily build a very common bit of urban detailing. Quote
CDC Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 What's that black thing on the ground inside the garage? Spilt oil maybe? Looks hella cool Quote
prateek Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 good job i like that garage door. the messed up octan sign and the dark lighting really give it the "ghetto feeling" IMO. i dont know if thats what its supposed to look like Quote
BlueBard Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Thanks! What's that black thing on the ground inside the garage? Spilt oil maybe? Looks hella cool Yes, I know it's not evident but I wanted to represent oil Actually I forgot to take a shot from the floor, I think I'll keep that detail for the new version. messed up octan sign and the dark lighting really give it the "ghetto feeling" IMO. i dont know if thats what its supposed to look like Not necessarily, but you gave me a nice idea Quote
