Guss Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Hello everyone! I'm here to present you a great little set, the Indiana Jones Jungle Duel! Reference: 7624 Theme: Indiana Jones Name: Jungle Duel Year : 2008 Pieces : 90 Minifig : 3 Price : 21CHF ( approximately 18 USD ) Links : Gallery, brickset The Box Here I am on my new bike to present you this little and amazing set! Back of the box: The content Inside the box we find 2 bags, a "tent", very useful for moccing. And, of course, the manual ! Random page of the manual : The Build As usual, we start by the minifigs... I only take a picture from the front, as their back is just plain, anyway, they're nicely detailed. Then, we build the table, that is made to be broken in two parts... there isn't this scene in the movie but that's cool , so who cares ? With the table comes a little bench. Then you just .. "put various thing in a box" After that you build the Campfire, original and cool : Then, the weapon rack... a very cool weapon rack ! Then the tent, with ... a backpack and some ants.. that are not supposed to be there in the movie too ! This tent is nice, it can easily fit more than one minifig, and it's easily build on a simple frame. Now that everything is build, let's fight! ... Hey you're supposed to fight ! Well forget it.. Complete Set Here are the extra parts : A picture of the complete set with all the accessories, it's quite impressive the number of "accessories", you got 3 sabres, 2 knifes, 1 katana ( what is it doing here ? ), a whip, a backpack, a bag, a stove, a cup, banana, chicken, jewels, ants, map and a box!! for a so little set, that's awesome! Pros/Cons Pros : - 3 cool minifigs - the tent - tha ants - the accessories ! - the cool weapon rack Cons : - I don't really see how it fits with the movie... they never break a table with a sabre in the movie, the ants are not here when they re in the jungle, I never saw the katana and the jewels in the movie too... Notes: Design: 10/10 Build: 8/10 Playability: 9/10 Minifigures: 10/10 Price: 9/10 Overall: 9.5/10 Conclusion: This is a really really cool set, let's ignore that it doesn't really have any relation with the movie, because we don't really care! In a so little set, you got a lot of accessories, 3 minifigs, a cool tent and some ants! for a very little price considering that it's a "licensed" set, to me , it's a "must have" , it can be used in any collection... the tent, the cup and the stove can be used in a modern moc, the sabres can be used in a pirate moc, the ants anywhere, the food too, well, you understood, it's a very useful set! Lordofdragonss Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Nice Review, its really nice set accesory pack, but it missing crystal skul....l Maybe Tent isn't brickbuild, but it look awesome. I still don't know why they put yellow teeth inside a table? Black or gray will be better, at least, they are usefull for building birds. Quote
Razzer Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Nice review Guss, I like the way you had your sigfig present it! This was the first Indy set I bought and I must say it doesn't have many bricks but the large amount of accesories and figs for such a small set makes up for that. (I still think it could use a crystal skull though...) I still don't know why they put yellow teeth inside a table? Black or gray will be better, at least, they are usefull for building birds. I completely agree with you there, it seems Lego does this with a lot of sets, is yellow cheap to make or something? Thanks Quote
NewRight Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Another nice review Guss. I love how the set includes so many figs and accessories. This set pays for itself on BrickLink. I hope TLG plans to continue the Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull line throughout the rest of this year. Quote
ChrisVA Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Effectively a minifigure with accessories pack. Allows one to get a nice selection of minifigures and pieces for a good price. I picked one up when it came out. High quality review! Quote
