There is no such thing as internal memory cards for the ps3, game saves for the ps2 are saved to hard drive.

From what you said it over heated, if it just did the fan in then it wont be a problem, but it more than likely fried your hard drive in which case all your ps2 ps3 saves, dlc, anything you had on there will most likely be gone, unless sony was able to save the data and transfer to the new hard drive.

Oh and while we are on it, free fans still would have stopped this from happening to you, its also because you kept playing it while it was too hot, the ps3 makes several noises, a quite hum when idle a louder hum during games, and then a real loud noise when over heated, which is ironic aren't you UK.

The thing is it didnt overheat while i was playing. And what does the fact that im Uk got to do with it? And no sony cant save the data because they told me on the phone that a courier would drop of the Ps3 (Just the Ps3 not the cables or anything) and take my Ps3. So I cant get my data back.

Oh thats just poking fun, when does it get hot in the UK, not like down here.

If they wanted to they could, all they need to do is pull the hard drive plug it into a usb2ide and bobs your uncle, its quite easy to do, i got a usb2ide and serial cable off ebay.com.au for 20bucks, anyone who can use a pc can do it, its simply a matter of connecting and copying.

To late now Ps3 has arrived, old ones gone. I am now attempting to complete Resistance again. Dang i hate those Menials!

Personally I think the best console ever is the mighty N64 , but if we are talking about only current or next-gen console is a little harder . I own both Wii and PlayStation 3 and I like them equally in some aspects. The Wii in one hand has superb first party titles but all the others are somewhat dissapointing. The PS3 in another hand has some really great first party titles and most of the third party ones are in the worst case just entertaining. I think I need to go with the PS3 with this one , I am currently beating Dead Space and Uncharted and they are great but the thing that will make the PS3 an unstoppable machine is a game that is going to rock... yeah I am talking about God of War 3 .

I have it and it was actually quite an entertaining game. I played it on medium level as I'm not into that type of games usually, but it turned out quite well with a solid campaign. It sure is pretty with all the wind, explosions and landscapes. There are some tricks to the game, but you will learn them as you go along.

I think PS3 is amazing not only becuase of the graphics and the Blu-Ray player capability, but also because it has so many cool exclusive games (such as Motorstorm 1 and 2 and Resistance 1 and 2), the Network is easy to naviagte and has a life simulator to hang with friends when they can't see you in real life and also the items and downloadable content on the PS Store are often great, free and/or fairly priced.

I have never owned an Xbox but I have played on the 360 at a friend's. The graphics are not as good as PS3 because the 360 console is older. However, I will say that Xbox is VERY cheap for games players with a tight budget. I have a similar opinion for Wii, but on the Wii, the focus is on movement and certainly not on graphics!

And I also enjoy playing on the Computer e.g. AGE OF EMPIRES SAGA!

This time the rumors are being fueled by sales figures. In April Sony sold more PS2's than PS3's.

I just thought. Why doens't this topic have a poll so everyone can compare what people like easily with straightforward data? I would guess most people's favourite consoles are the ones they own, but I think PS3 is better than Wii and the computer.
