Guss Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Hello ! yesterday I tried to make a lego "tachikoma" from the anime : Ghost in the shell , but I failed ! anyway I liked the models so I kept them^^ : aren't they cute ? and I also did another "mecha" , an Anti-fire unit , called the "Red Crab" ( my girlfriend didn't let me the choice of the name, she decided it. ) and finally, some group shots : Feel free to critics and comments, as it's my first attempt at doing this kind of moc, I need some advices ^^ thanks for watching! Peppermint_M Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 "Mr Batou! We're made from Lego!" I made a Tachikoma myself (on my MOCpages somewhere) and those miniscale ones are wonderful! I need to get some more parts to make a better one as there are new and useful elements out to make it look much better. Once Again, those are fantastic. Quote
Guss Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 this one ? ^^ it's really more accurate than mine! ( but way bigger^^) You did well ! Thanks a lot for your kind words, I hope that you'll post your new version when you'll get some parts! ^^ Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Wow, that was fast. I plan on changing the arm and leg joints a bit using the ball and socket joints from the clone gunship (or whatever its called) and make it a bit more accurate, smoothing some edges and such, just making a nice big wishlist on bricklink in hope I find a shop that has enough parts i need to justify postage costs. Freddie Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Guss: I think they're awesome. And cute. But then again they were cute from the get-go, or at least they were in SAC. Even though they are way off-model, they're still instantly recognisable as Tachikomas. Same goes for Red Crab. Actually, I think this one's better. There's more detail to it, and there's gone more creativity into it. Excellent stuff. Quote
Guss Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 thanks a lot Freddie ^^ I'm going to make another bigger mecha soon, so I think it'll be much more detailed than the red crad ( well, in my mind it is, I just need to see if I can build it like I want to XD ) hehe Peppermint_M, I was going to bed when I saw your post^^ then checked your profile> your mocpage> and found it^^ I hope that you'll find a shop with all the parts because I want to see your new version^^ Quote
Lasse D Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 It is always hard to make complex and small mechs like tachikomas. I really like how you have given them their civilian paint jobs. Sure the should have been larger (large enough to fit a minifig in the rear). Any plans on adding a Jefferson and make some scenes from "Tachikoma Days"? Quote
Guss Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 Very cute! I love the yellow one. thanks ^^ Lasse D thanks a lot^^ I don't plan on making a little scene, but I'm going to include them in a diorama I'm going to show at an exhibition ( Japan Expo @ Paris ) , along with other little manga based creations. Asuka Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Excellent work, they all look simply sweet. I especially like that group shot... looks like a really happy family... btw, if that cool Red Crab mecha works as mamabot, you would still need a papabot... Quote
Batbrick Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Aww, so cute! My favourite is the yellow one! Nice work on getting them small enough, and that firebot is neat too, reminds me of a firebot I did last year, except...you know....good Batbrick Away! Quote
Guss Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 thanks a lot Batbrick , the yellow one is also the more " accurate" I think ^^ thanks Asuka , I'm going to make another mech, way bigger, maybe I'll call him " fatherbot" Quote
Perterz Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I'm not really into mecha's and all but those actually look pretty cool and cute. The last one makes me want to look closer and see how it has been build, I find that pretty intresting and it's looking great! Nice job Guss. Quote
TenorPenny Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 The green and grey one is my favourite. Lovely little builds. Quote
