Izzy Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I'd like to share this with everyone as I'm sure you all have had similar experiences during your long and fruitful Lego lives. When I recently borrowed some of the old Lego (my brother's and sisters owned) from my Mother, I came across a horror like nothing I had ever seen! Here it is, Now brace yourselves... WARNING! If you LOVE Fabuland, please sit down before viewing. Well, okay, I was exaggerating! I thought it was pretty funny actually and was wondering if any of you guys out there have similar things to share. Some really bad custom jobs that are irreversible? There was a minifig all covered in white-out to look like a ghost also but I didn't take a picture! Cheers, Quote
Etzel Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Uh-oh, the Joker has moved to Fabuland! Maybe something for Hinckley to use in his Fabuland Housewives. "Why so serious?" Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 My sister drew on quite a few blank minifig heads so she could have more girls to play with (for an age, Jet and plain smiley with girly hair was all we had to work with) unfortunatly the only way she deemed correct was to "rough up" the plastic with emery paper, thus it is irreversable. She also made princess legs by drawing flowery vine patterns up some plain legs and glitter nail varnishing them... I am guilty of a few permi pen and parcel sticker decorations. Quote
SlyOwl Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009   That's hilarious! Some mf my Fabuland figs have had attempted mutilation on them (eBay ) - there's a deep gash in one of their necks (halfway, nearly), reminiscent of a hacksaw cut, and there's considerable roughness and a groove across the back of a pair of legs, similar to when a saw comes out of the groove, and slides across te surface. I'll admit that when I first discovered Brickshelf and saw all the custom weapons, I wanted to do my own. I took 3 of my chipped chrome silver swords and cut them into crude shapes similar to the Brickforge ones, and painted them. Today they're in my box of broken parts I'll never customize non-broken parts again. At one point I also saw it a good idea to snap the one-piece road-signs off their bases  And then there was the time I shot a minifig out of my crossbow, shattering its arms and hands and cracking the torso. Quote
Toa of Whimsy Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Seriously, that thing is weird. as far as modifying LEGO minifigs is concerned... I think the most I did was chew on a pair of legs till they could no longer affix to studs properly. and I once painted over a silver BIONICLE Kanohi with gold marker. Quote
AwesomeStar Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I've drawn on a couple of pieces and I've got the odd pair of squashed legs that'll no longer affix to studs, but mostly its just prints on the head rubbing off. Toa, do you have to add a Tapestry-thing to pretty much every post, its rather annoying. ~A.S. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Toa, do you have to add a Tapestry-thing to pretty much every post, its rather annoying. ~A.S. Yes, please stop posting those pictures. Once was O.K. but it has gotten a bit out of hand. That is quite scary Cutlass, certainly reminds me of the Fabuland Joker. I don't remember ever abusing a LEGO piece. Except, I chewed up one of these once. I used to love to chew on rubber things. But, that was a long time ago! Quote
Izzy Posted May 12, 2009 Author Posted May 12, 2009 Yeah... I admit that my black whip is no longer altogether and rather manky due to some extremely late teething. Bahahaha. (We are freaks! ) But it was still eons ago. Quote
brickzone Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 It was only really worn pieces that got modification treatment in my house - and my sister was a dab hand at paintwork - so the results were quite good. I'm a purist myself though, and I'd certainly have to recoil in horror from anything such as that posted in the OP. Quote
