LuxorV Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Again, I started off with a reference pic or two of the videogame version, and made my own: (pic links to gallery) As you may notice also from this LDD model file, there are some differences (like the propeller blade) due to pieces avaliability and non-existing pieces used for the game version The other MOC I worked on is a mini-scale version of the Mark VIII Liberty tank used in the desert fight scene of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (see under Design): (again, pic links to gallery) Here you can see scene I'm referring to (as if you needed it ): I know the front is its Achilles' heel, being it too high with respect to the reference, but I did my best on it, and that is the best configuration I could come up with without changing the treads' design Hope you like them LuxorV Quote
The Penguin Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Awesome work, LuxorV! ) I really like the way you did them. Especially the tank. ) I'm never good at mid-scale building, so I'll have just to admire the great job, you've done here! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
LuxorV Posted May 4, 2009 Author Posted May 4, 2009 Thanks for the comment, The Penguin, and sorry for the very late reply It would seem the LDD model file caused some sort of problem with the Nazi plane gallery, so that it could not be seen publicly. I moved that file to another folder. We'll see if it works LuxorV Quote
Derek Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Didn't see this one when you posted it a few days ago. I like the scale of the plane, it isn't huge, and it isn't too small either, I wish Lego would use this scale more often... Nice job on both of them, have you considered using actual tank treads for that mini? I think the smaller ones, either by themself or 2 side by side, would look nice. Quote

I agree, I like that scale, while the one used for the official set is a bit too big imo. Nice job on both of them, have you considered using actual tank treads for that mini? As espected, it ended taht I had to mess a lot with the System tricks, especially to have a quite good looking and precise to the original front . LuxorV Quote
Batbrick Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Sorry LuxorV! I had forgotten about this one! Love the fighter, the use of an actual engine piece at the front works really well ad is quite clever. Brickbuilt wings normally don't work for me but this is fabulous, and very faithful to the pics you've used. I love the tank as well. Yes it is a little high as you say, but it is a very neat midscale moc and the use of grills for tracks works nicely. The side turret is also really cute Great work, do you plan on more? Batbrick Away! Quote
LuxorV Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 Thanks for the comments, Batbrick. I'm happy you like them both. Great work, do you plan on more? Not in the immediate future; maybe this summer LuxorV Quote
