LuxorV Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Hi all, long time has passed since I last posted a MOC in this forum In the last few days I've been re-dicovering my passion for the Indy movies (especially the Last Crusade), and I also browsed BS for inspiration pics for MOCs. As I stumblesd on this folder, I thought it would have been cool to try and build the Venice boat with actual LEGO bricks. As you can see, it's a bit different from the one we'll get in the official set. Well, this is as near to that as I could get with the bricks I have in my collection (hence the changes in colour): (pic links to gallery, when public) Hope you like it, since I do, and I found it really interesting from a technical point of view to translate the PC-generated version of the game into actual bricks (btw, the designers cheated here and there using 'bricks' which do not exist in the real world , so I had to arrange a few things differently form the original render image). And now to the promised bonus: esterday evening I was bored and decided to make a micro version of the Flying Wing What do you think of it? (again, pic links to gallery) LuxorV Quote
AwesomeStar Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Great work, LuxorV, and I love the bonus! ~A.S. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I really like how you have put together the boat's sides. They look quite accurate to the original render. The Flying Wing looks really good too especially the tail fins. Although you have captured the whole shape well. Quote
prateek Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) great boat, i like the SNOT slopes and side do you have a reference pic of it in LIJ? Edited April 18, 2009 by prateek Quote
LuxorV Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 Thanks for the positive feedback great boat, i like the SNOT slopes and side do you have a reference pic of it in LIJ? Do you mean something like this: original render image LuxorV Quote
prateek Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Do you mean something like this: LuxorV like a screen from the actual game unless this is the boat then its ok Quote
LuxorV Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 You can see it at the beginning of this video (at 00:13 min ): or in this pic from the original game site I'm sorry not to be able to give you better images, hope this are ok LuxorV Quote
Batbrick Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Awesome stuff as always LuxorV, I love how you've constructed the boat, really accurate to the game. I love how it has two rows of seats, does the official one have that? I also like the "grilling" on the back. Sorry to say though, but I think the best part of your post is that awesome mini flying wing. It's perfect! I especially love the rotors on the back and the cute little cockpit Batbrick Away! Quote
prateek Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 thats fine IMO, TLC should make that 2 long rod Quote
LuxorV Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 Well, thanks again for the comments Expect something new in the next few days LuxorV Quote
The Penguin Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 How come I'm often the last to notice nice MOCs here? ) Great work, LuxorV! The boat looks very good, and I've never considered it to be such a nice thing, judging by the game. Never paid much attention, frankly. But once you've made it in 'true' LEGO form..... ) Great work again! ) looking forward to seeing more from you! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
Darth Legolas Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) May I say I really do like this boat more than the one coming out in the Venice chase set? It looks more accurate, and more realistic. The boats in the Venice chase set are wide and a little ugly, though this one is perfectly shaped, and I'd ride in it ay day... ...except for the fact that my foot might be bigger than it. Off Topic: The video game Flying Wing from that gallery looks amazing! Edited April 25, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Nice work Luxor, the shape and look are very well caught. If possible i'd change the front yellow bracket for a red one, so the yellow doesn't show on the side. Quote
