martinsuper Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Here is what I wrote: I am an adult LEGO builder, and also an active member of the LEGO eurobrick forum. In particular, I collect and build LEGO pirates. Everyone is very excited to see the pirate line back, but there are also some things we as collectors/builders want to see! 1. Just ONE time, make a big imperial ship that is as big OR bigger than the pirate ship? How are the good guys supposed to win with these little dinky ships they have been getting? Make an imperial ship that is bigger than Brickbeard's Bounty (6243) and I gurantee it will sell. I will probably buy three of them! 2. Make new sets with BLUE COATS. The first run of LEGO pirate remains the most popular! Go look how much they sell for on Ebay! Why don't you make a new BLUE COAT like the new RED COAT? You could even use the new red coat design and just invert the colors? 3. Sets with baseplates! Lego builders LOVE baseplates, can you bring them back into the pirate sets again? 4. Blue 32x32 bseplates for sale again! Lego pirate builders need water! They are spending A LOT of money to buy used plates from various sources. Why not make it easier for us and just start making them for sale individually again? 5. Pirate items available on Pick-A-Brick. Self-explained. 6. More pirate sets, bigger pirate sets! Like I said, we are excited by the new product line, but bring us more! I bought one of EVERY set when I found they were for sale again. Since then, I bought another Brickbeard's Bounty (6243), AND another Soldier's Fort (6242). Feel free to e-mail or call me to talk about this and get more info! Martin Super etc.. etc.. etc.. Quote

Well Said, I would also mention that a 48x48 base plate would be great...I have taken a few of those in grey and added blue 2x2 tiles to make water...a 48x48 in blue would be perfect Quote

martinsuper Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 Now this is what im talking about! I would love to agree with you, but relations between us are currently strained. Almost war-like I would say... Or is this reponse a hoax too? -Super Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'd rather see dark green coats as opposed to blue coats. Quote
Eskallon Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Brilliant idea, I agree with it all even though pirates isn't one of my favourit themes. We need the baseplates seriously do they want our money or not. You also mentioned a big imperial ship which you are right about as that would mean big battles in sets instead of us having to create our own when it is meant to be a battle using say only the newer sets.(2008 + maybe when they come 2009) Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I agree whole heartedly. It seems like such a waste to pay $15 for a blue base plate second hand when Lego can sell them new for six bucks. We need new blue coats. I'll buy 150 as soon as they come out (if they come out I should say). You can put we down for at least six of those big imperial ships. All I ask is that you keep the cartoony symbols off the sails. Go with the classic stripes. Keep expanding pick a brick. There is a good reason it is always in the top five best seller category! Quote
Kaptein Rob Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I'd love to see LEGO writing a respons to this we'll see what the future gives us Quote
martinsuper Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 Ok, well, all of you need to go to this link. http://service.lego.com/en-US/Contactus/Email.aspx #1 Put in your e-mail address. #2 Choose "Pirates" Write something similiar to what I wrote. Make it a question. #3 Fill out your info. #4 SUBMIT. I am going to write ONE letter every week. Non-stop. What if we all did this? You guys really want these things? THEN LETS DO IT! -Super I'd love to see LEGO writing a respons to thiswe'll see what the future gives us When I hear something, I will post it. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I think it's better to send one large email, perhaps two, with everyone's signature on it so they can see we put effort in it. Spamming them is a bad idea and I'm afraid they see it as a reason to just DON'T make new sets, and we won't let that happen do we? Quote

Fine Mr. "Voice of Reason". How exactly do we put this together then? -Super P.S. Im sure there is a list of points we can agree upon. Quote
Barbaros Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Agreed with you 100% martinsuper and would love to see LEGO's response to this. I would also have liked you to add a word about the current look of the new Jolly Roger logo which features a skull who many onboard agree looks alien like, so I do hope they do also change that in the near future, though I doubt it... just2good Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Yes, we do love baseplates.... And I want more blue ones... Quote
Honeybee Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Long live the day when bluecoat torsos are availible on pick a brick! Deffintly need blue baseplates, I recently aquired 2 light blue baseplates and they work well too. So maybe make them more availible as well. I do agree on the ships, it seems lego reversed the roles for the pirate line, as we all know, it was the navy that had the big ships and the pirates used smaller faster vessels, apart from a few individuals.
