Ah,you mean the 1x2 reel to reel tape piece.

Here's a boom box piece, one of my favorite printed LEGO pieces ever.

As for the tape piece, it's been neat to see this classic piece reappear in modern sets. In MOC's I usually use it as part of a VCR, or as a VCR tape.

I have a feeling that a carefull reading of this thread is going to clearly separate the AFOL's from the TFOL's

Prateek, eyes on a robot is Brilliant Idea!!

Yes I guess I did mean the "1x2 tape real" I got mine recently in the city minifig set... I was pretty sure it's not the first time being printed but don't know how old it is. But I still thought it would be cool to see other peoples ideas as what they have been using it for.

As for that actual whole stereo piece.... WHERE  did you get that?

What do you mean about AFOL's and TFOL's? As to their knowledge of old Lego??? Because I am just about 24 years old (That counts as an adult right?) but know very little about what was in Lego sets from the mid nineties till a few years ago... and only know about what sets we actually had before then.

As many of you may know I have an interest in 50's 60's Lego but that doesn't mean Im an AFOL

What's a VCR? :look:

I kid, I kid. But I bet that's the type of question you were expecting.:tongue:

I missed that Eilif was hinting at that! Considering that, it's actually kind of surprising that the City Minifig set had that piece, because most 8 year old kids might not recognise the tape, seeing as boom boxes no longer use cassettes any more. It makes me feel old to still own cassettes.:grin:

As for the Boom Box, it comes in these sets, and I got mine in the lovely Outback Airstrip, along with the radio brick and the tan 8x32 baseplate. :classic:

What is all this blacking out business????

A VCR? Are you serious? A video player! What they used back in the 90's.. hahaha... Watch

! It will be good for your personal education.

The stereo piece comes in several sets, but hasn't been around since '99. It appears in these sets. I got mine in a resale shop mixed lot, so I'm not sure where it came from

I wasn't commenting on old LEGO, I was joking about....

What's a VCR? :look:

Yep, that's what I was kidding about. I remember when the tape tile came out, and it seemed so modern to have a video cassette tape piece.

This is very cute!!! :classic:

As for the boom box, it's one of my favorite peices. Paradisa is my favorite theme.. subtheme of lego and theres a lot of unique peices that are included in those sets, one being the boom box. The other one that I'm currently thinking of is my personal favorite, the pony!

Nope, I was joking. I'm one of the few people in the world who still knows how to program one.

(If you wanna read the blacked out text, just highlight it. )

I still keep a top-loading Beta around in case I need it.

I have this insane dream to one day own all of the equipment necessary to view or listen to any form of media. Everything from Edison rolls to whatever is the newest thing at that moment.

Bahaha! Now that really is a BOOM Box, not many things I can think of to do with that though. Beside the obvious.

1. Give it to a blonde (That was a Joke, I know plenty of intelligent blondes.)

2. Throw a pin at someone (not the best idea)

3. Dont pull the pin and chuck it. (helps get guys out of cover so you can snipe them)

4. When they realise you were faking, pull a pin and throw it.

5. Stick it down some aliens throat.

6. Stick it inside an undeads bones.

7. Play Hot Potato

8. Suicide

9. Some hero pulls out a huge handful of pins and jumps into a swarm of enemies.

10. Knock the treads off of a tank.

11. Drop it down the turret opening on top of a tank.

12. Have an idiot comrade drop it (Oops, silly me!)

See, there are plenty of things to do!

On the topic of BoomBoxes, I want one!

Hehe! Nice one! That is still the obvious though.... i.e. with the 1x2 printed tile it is being used as different things altogether. But you are still using grenades as grenades.
