Dynamically resizing an image in BBcode

I apologise in advance if this has been answered previously. I've had a look around and I don't see it having been discussed before.

The BBcode reference tells me that you can dynamically resize images within the image tags. This would be useful as I could resize images without having to do it manually in Photoshop (if say, I want to upload a large image to Flickr).

I have tried to do this in this forum but it seems it does not work. Is this disabled or have I done something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

What I mean is this:

^ It doesn't become an image.

The main reason why we don't support this is following: If the source image is big, it will need to be loaded completely and then resized. One of the purposes of resizing pics is to make them load faster or at an acceptable speed. Not everyone has fast Internet connections.
