Siegfried Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 And 1024K was all the RAM anyone would ever need. Ironically that one is a myth. Quote
Svelte Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 As a Sydneysider, I very much enjoyed Earth Hour's sequel yesterday evening - the two hour involuntary blackout suffered in the central city and inner suburbs! Quote
The Penguin Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Well, gentlemen, I did not participate in this. Not that i don't want our planet to become cleaner, healthier, etc. But such actions won't just work. I back Sinner's point that, in fact, turning on and of the lights may use even more energy that it may save. That's one point. And another point is: let's calculate all this money, spent on the campaign. I guess, it would have been much wiser to spent it on real enviromental projects or solve some social problems. Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
Ratshot Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Why in the world would I sit in my house in the dark doing NOTHING PEOPLE, NOTHING, WHEN, I could be playing with my Lego or here on EB. You figure out what I did. Quote
prateek Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Wrong, the Mythbusters busted this one. In order to consume more electricity by shutting the lights on and off you'd have to leave the lights off for a few milliseconds... thats what the mythbusters are for Quote
Toa Rodimus Ignika Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 thats what the mythbusters are for Hmm? All in all, I sat in the dark for an hour in Nashville. I was following what all the other people did, which was turn off all lights. Quote
