Sir Dano Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) I noticed this today while setting up my Pirate figs: (Normal green rag hat from my collection added for emphasis) Edited March 13, 2009 by Sir Dano Quote
Lorentzen Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 The colours are different, but LEGO made a mistake? Yeah, it's weird that LEGO can't do this properly, I mean they've been doing this for quite some time now... but funny little thing to have noticed though. I guess this will happen more and more often, because I've been noticing some small annoyances with the newer LEGO brick, compared to my old stuff from the 1980's and early 1990's. Have you noticed the new white? It's almost milky/creamy white now. And yellow has also lost some of its former quality. Oh well, I like the minifig designs better and better Quote
Zorro Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 HMMMm weird... I do not know what to make out of this? Quote
soc399 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 You're lucky you have a normal green rag to match the off-color torso. It looks really good! Quote
General Armendariz Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Wow those normal green rags are rare! Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Hey Dano, what set did this come in? Very cool BTW. Quote
Sir Dano Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 Hey Dano, what set did this come in? Very cool BTW. Cannon Battle, it's the only Pirate set I've purchased so far with that torso design. Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Hmmm, I plan on getting that soon, I will tell you if it is different. Maybe other people had this misprint also? Quote
brickzone Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I have four of that torso and all are green striped just like the centre minifig above, rather than dark green like the two either side. Quote
Zorro Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I have four of that torso and all are green striped just like the centre minifig above, rather than dark green like the two either side. I ordered 4 Cannon Battles yesterday, so now its waiting to see if I notice the same differences or not. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I had the same thing with one batch of Cannon Battles that I bought. It's quite odd. It was only one time that I got 3 from Target that they were like that. All of the others have been normal. Quote
brickzone Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) I should add that the torsos I have are from 2 Cannon battles (one from S@H, one from local toy store), Kraken Attackin (S@H) and Brickbeard's Bounty (UK retailer). I think I'd prefer to have the dark green stripes - they look better. Edited March 14, 2009 by brickzone Quote
Sir Dano Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 I think I'd prefer to have the dark green stripes - they look better. I love both of them, they add more variety. Quote
BlueBard Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I think that torso color variation (and other MF elements too...) begins to be normal nowadays. I've three of this one from three different City sets and all are different. Maybe I'm too lucky? Quote
Millacol88 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I have three torsos like this. As soon as I found this thread, I checked them all and found no colour variation (they were all of the dark green variety). It's weird that so many people have this problem though. Quote
seahawkeye Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I love the variation, too. I'd be happy if sets came with random colours, or at least random shades like this. A huge band of pirates shouldn't look like they're wearing team colours, for crikey's sake. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I've got a bunch of those cannon battles and so I took a look last night and immediately 6 or 7 of the different lighter green jumped out at me (they are all packed in a rather tight standing formation at the moment mixed in with ranks of other pirates so I didn't get an accurate count). Ratshot Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I took a look at my fellers and I noticed the exact same thing. Quote
