Tohst Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Hogwarts Front Flickr Page I've gotten my front facade of Hogwarts to the point I'm willing to share it. Comments and criticism are always welcome. Tohst Quote
Natman8000 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Holy shiz! Thats awesome! Your towers look mighty fine curved and the architecture is magnificent. Quote
kill will Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Ooh, nice, though the towers could be rounded better. Quote
SWMAN Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Very impressive. While I fell out of Harry Potter Lego's, it would have been nice to see them continue. I wish that they had done a better, more detailed version of Hogwarts. Quote
Matn Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 That's awesome! You did a really great job, I love it so far. Great roundings, and the windows used fit in well. Good job, keep on building! =D Quote
Sandy Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 That's helluva lot of tan bricks you've got there! I've got plenty of tan from my HP-sets, but they're mostly in the form of those long 2x5 pillars. But the facade is absolutely beautiful. Loving it! It could use a few more HP-related minifigs for show, though. Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Its marvelous! Love the bridge so far Quote
badboytje88 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I hate you! Nah just kidding. I love your castle so far. Can't wait to see it when it's completed. But that will probably take a very long time! What pics are you using for referance? Allways nice to see fellow harry potter lego fans here! Badboy Quote
Bricks Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) Great work I think this is the best way to make a Hogwarts front. Nice round towers, perfect colours and awesome windows. So this is perfect! 'Bricks' Edited March 7, 2009 by Bricks Quote
Ricecracker Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 That's beautiful! I love the rounded towers as well as the flags. I would never be able to make that. That must've cost a fortune too. I can't wait to see what else you do. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Very, very cool. I've always wanted to try that rounded technique but I don't have enough pieces. Looks a little life like from far away. Maybe if you put it on top of a hill in front of a highway, people will look up and think it's a huge castle much farther away! Quote
Tohst Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 I'm about ready to do some renovations. Nothing too major. The big areas will look the same but hopefully some of the connecting areas will be better and some more bulk added. Anyway, just thought I'd share a picture of what the whole setup looks like now before I start work. http://www.flickr.com/photos/14802561@N05/...57602353726691/ Of course, these pictures are also for me so when I mess it up completely trying to enhance it maybe I can get back to this point. ;-) Thanks for looking, -Tohst. ILikePi Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Wow! That's looking good, Tohst! The removable side to the building is a great idea! I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever decide to make a huge building. Is it in a true minifigure scale? I can't wait to see more pictures! Quote
Legostein Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Hello there! This is really very impressive! I can imagine the amount of time you've spent to come to that point now. But you really do a wonderful job here. I think the big round tower with the stairhouse inside is very original, and the way you shaped a coned top for the tower with vertical attached slopes is very clever! Looking forward seeing more! ~ Christopher Quote
Tohst Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Wow! That's looking good, Tohst! Is it in a true minifigure scale? I can't wait to see more pictures! I can't say its true minifigure scale. Thre great hall is probably half the size it should be. It fits two tables down the length and not four. Luckily, Lego never saw fit to give us any Ravenclaws or Hufflepuffs so I don't feel too bad. It does lead to a lot of food fights with the Slytherins right next to the Gryffendor table. I think my next bits are going to be some interior rooms and the entrance with the pendulum. I'm having some trouble trying to figure out how it all goes together. This is really very impressive! Big Cam Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Very impressive. I really like the brickwork, it curves nicely and looks like real bricks from a distance. My only gripe is the top cones are half open, is there a reason for this?? Also I thought it was funny, I was going through the pictures on flickr and I came to one labeled right size, and I thought wait a minute, that looks like a toilet. It was, I didn't notice that it moved onto to other pcitures. Nice toilet BTW. Quote
Milan Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 One of the best architectural creations I have ever seen! Bravo, man! Quote

It needs a little work to finish off (especially the interior). One of the best architectural creations I have ever seen!Bravo, man! Thanks! -Tohst Quote
CommanderFox Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 WOW Tohst that looks pure Amazing!! I really like that bridge Very well done! CommanderFox Quote
Eskallon Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I agree that it is amazing, the best hogwarts I have ever seen when it comes to everything but playability. The other one I saw was based on playability. Anyway your rounded towers are brilliant and the great hall is well designed. Quote
Kubik-Rubik Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Wonderful! Monumental! Nice! Great! Impressive! Very good job! You model the brickwork and stained glass very well! Thank you! Quote
