Got the Farmers mailer in the mail today:

The 3 in 1 pack that JP deeplinked a pic of on the previous page or two is $130!

Winter Toy shop is $100!!! :cry_happy: Im really tempted to get this, as I thought the original prce for $130 was alittle TO much.

Farmers has 20% off all toys Tomorrow only too. They don't add up discounts, you just get the better deal. But that does make the winder toy shop $96, and the Wampa 3in1 pack $104.. Quite nice

Yes I did in the end, I payed I think $75 for it...but man was it worth it for Fox. I was just annoyed about after all that 'finding a better price' I had to pay more in the end. :hmpf_bad:

There's one on TradeMe for $99 if your that keen to get it.

Hey thats actually a pretty good price considering its a few years old. But... I have no money  Thanks though!

However that Rogue Shadow in the 'more stuff you may like' is tempting...

Ooh, well that IS a rip off. :oh: Id go for the second hand one if you want it that bad, and if its not complete buy the parts off BL. :sweet:

CF

Nah I kinda like getting brand new sets. I have bought a second hand one but it didnt feel the same cause even though it was complete. Not opening the box and seeing the set in unopened bags wasnt the same. And I really think $170 isnt that bad. It could be a lot more.

Where abouts have you seen the city one?

CF

Toy planet in Takapuna has about 8 of them behind the counter. Spoke to them today and they say that those are the last city advent calendars they're getting, and no retailer in NZ got the kingdoms advent calendar....<gloom>

guess I'll have to try trademe

cheers

Anybody up North Shore (Auckland) ? This person has some incredible Legos including a couple ancient sets at no reserve, very strictly pick up only:

I really like the small Ferraris and there are plenty of city sets, creator homes. But my favorites are the old ones, surprisingly they are not as valuable as I would have thought:

Interesting they don't go for more.

If you want a Kingdoms advent calendar, you could try and find someone in Australia who can get you one.

Yeah good idea. If anyone finds them cheap and is planning an order, then maybe i'll join in, if there cheap enough.

This set has been discounted 20% pretty regularly since it first came out. I keep being tempted, but I'm trying to learn to restrain my habits.

So I got the Winter Toy Shop instead.

A suprisingly long build for such a small building. I guess I'm used to city sets that size that are made almost entirely of one-brick walls, or no walls at all.

I like it. It reminds me of why I sometimes almost don't hate Christmas...

When I spoke to Toy planet, I was informed that they were told that seeing as the final HP movie is out, HP is therefore on its last legs, and therefore there wouldn't be any demand for HP lego - so LEGO NZ didn't bother to bring any more HP lego into NZ....

go figure

Cheers

Thats intresting. I guess they're finally realizing that to sell sets at a profit, they really need to be on sale for the 'hype' of a movie, and be sold out before a movie gets old. Just look at the sales that have happened to Indy, Toy story, POP... Movies get too old too fast, New Zealand moves stock too slow to make the most of these short movie themes. However, I had somewhat expected Harry Potter to be a bit more lucky, seeing as there's another movie coming out rather soon, and Happy Potter has become quite a classic. Intresting though, Thanks Nick

However, intrestingly enough, I did see The Small $25 HP set and the Big HP train set at Toyworld today  So they are scattered around a bit

Posted

The HP is around everywhere in Australia so if you cant find it in kiwiland, you could always find someone in .au to ship some across the pond :)

Posted

Its strange that they wouldn't get some in if this is true. I personally haven't seen them anywhere but Im sure they would be around. But if that is the reason why then its pretty good. Lots of stockers have been trying to get rid of Toy Story and PoP for a long time now. Im just waiting till they really give up and sell them and incredibly dirt cheap prices.

Don't know what it's like up there, But POP sold out in days here in CHCH. Toy story is still a shelf wearmer at half price, but POP won't go much less than 50% I don't think.

At $5 a pop, I don't want to know how fast the Army men would go

If you still want HP sets you're going to have to move fast. What Nikkiwi says is correct; Lego NZ ordered in a lot less of the HP sets than the stores thought they were getting, so there is a bit of a shortage in NZ, and they will not be getting in any more. So once it is gone, there won't be any restocking, unfortunately. I'm glad I ordered most of the sets from the US while they were still available, only set I decided not to get is the train.

Moore Wilson in Wellington still has a couple of HP sets on the shelves, as does the TW Megastore. I understand TW Kapiti sold out on the first day.

If anyone spots any of the impulse sets from this year, do shout out. I fear we may not be getting them, which would be a shame.
