Squeaker Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I'll start: for those of you near Sacramento: LEGO lot - $100 I would totally buy this but my mom won't let me.
pr0visorak Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Well in the first place it is in a random website, not ebay so chances of getting cheated are high. Also they all look messsed up, if I was your mom I would have too forbid it.
CommanderCody77 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Yeah I agree with pr0visorak, I think this really is a cheated website
Legoman Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I disaggree. Craigslist is usually Pick-up only items. Good lucks being scammed when you go pick it up!
Captain Green Hair Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I disaggree. Craigslist is usually Pick-up only items. Good lucks being scammed when you go pick it up! Indeed well said. When you don't trust a seller, go pick the items up and pay the at that moment. If the seller disagrees, then don't buy it!
pr0visorak Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I know, but he said his mom. I dont think he is old enough to actually to do so, and doing as you said might endanger him
natelite Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 that's a huge tub! and include the red coats. i dont see any minifigs in the picture but if they are included (and not selectively removed), then $100 should be a good buy. should have a few complete sets to sell for >$500 making this buy a net profit for those industrious enough to sort and clean and repack.
The Alchemyst Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I'd get it, but I'd lose the money [and loads of time] by going to San Francisco. [-The Alchemyst-]
Legoman Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) It is indeed a good buy. If I had the chance, i would buy this in a flash! Edited February 22, 2009 by legoman
Squeaker Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 Uggh, I've bought from craigslist before. She won't let me buy because 'I have too many LEGOs' Here's some pics of the last lot I bought - in person, mind you. Usssually trade in a parking lot in a public place like at a mall. For the holy-freaking-M3G@bl0|<5 price of... $40!!! although it did have some Tyco... Anyway, this topic isn't to discuss the deal I found - get it if you want - but to discuss deals you've seen.
Apache Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Dude...that sucks. Those LEGOS are soooo gone now.. that was a smokin DEAL. I would of bought those in a heartbeat and not even of thought twice.
natelite Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Dude...that sucks. Those LEGOS are soooo gone now.. that was a smokin DEAL. I would of bought those in a heartbeat and not even of thought twice. it's a great deal but also requires a lot of elbow grease. if those bricks are dirty or smell of smoke, you will need to clean them. then there's the drying, sorting, and repacking. it's really a toss up of effort vs reward. for a teen setting up his/her own BL store? definitely worth it. for an adult with a full time job? not really...
Dadster Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I've seen a few good deals close enough to drive to, but by the time I've contacted the person, they're (a Lego lot) long gone...

After seeing your stack, I know why... Anyway during this time of recession we should refrain from buying too much
