Er!k Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Hello to you all! Let me introduce myself. I am Erik from the Netherlands and 28 years old. I rediscovered LEGO last year when splitting our old LEGO between me and my brother. It was the first time since a long time I touched LEGO and had been able to rebuild old sets, since I lost some Building instructions. Thanks to several web sites I found the building instructions and I had a lot of fun! Then I found out that there are large LEGO communities and first saw the Market Street, Café Corner and Green Grocery. My first set I bought since a long time last year was the mail van. After that I spent time to collect some old second hand sets (Airport, Holiday house, Motor cycle shop), and buying parts to complete old sets. Also I got Market Street as a present. My main interest is City, and also trains. So I think you will find me there most of the time... However, last week I bought the little Pirates set (8397) because I loved the fish Currently I am waiting for the Emerald Engine (10194) and the City Corner Greetings from the Netherlands! Quote
eti Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Hi Erik, I'm Erik from the Netherlands too, welcome! For me too the modular houses that definitely got me back to Lego, but my interests are broad - I like cool designs no matter what theme they're in. I like some sets but MOC'ing is the main things for me. If I see what sets you like, and you like the fish - did you already see the Medieval Market Village set? That one's not bad at all! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Hi Erick and Erick, i'm Rick from the Netherlands, welcome to Eurobricks! My brother donated me all his sets, i guess i'm lucky in that. The online communities boosted the hobby for me as well, before that i build a large model every no and then with all the old bricks. The sets you mentioned are good ones, infact there are too many good sets coming out this year, poor wallet... City and Pirates are on top of my favourite list too. Do you collect sets, or do you have a folder with MOCs somewhere too? I got Lego for my first time again on my 27th birthday last January, and i love it! Enjoy it here Erick! Quote
Holodoc Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Hi Erik! Welcome to Eurobricks, the friendly Lego place. I´m almost from the Netherlands , as my home town is very close to Venlo, but eastwards. Splitting your Lego? Nooooo! That´s a classic: Seeing the new sets and buying older ones after having had the dark ages. My main interest is City, and also trains. Excellent choice! I hope we will see some of your creations around here (if you build some...). Quote
Er!k Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 Thanks for all the replies so far... At this time I have created a town lay-out without much MOC's... I see a lot of nice things here, but if I want to make such things I will have to buy a lot of bricks Quote
