lobby Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I can't believe it, I was browsing the web and I wasn't looking for anything lego related but I happenned to come across this site, and what can I say, this is incredible. I can only smile as I see pictures of the pirates lego boxes (i have all of them) and think back to my days when I played pirate lego every day. This is classic stuff, lego pretty much defined my childhood and it brings me such joy and nostalgia to see that pirate lego is still very much loved despite the manufacturing coming to a halt many years back. Thank-you Classic-Pirates.com for making my day. lol, i remember that face so well... ***off to see if i can find a site devoted to indian lego (my equal fave) the ones riding on crocodiles, not the american indians...*** since I haven't raised any points in this thread, I'll let you talk about this (even though it would've been discussed countless times before): How much does the classic lego own the current lego? I saw not long ago, they were trying to bring back the knights lego, it just failed though..... Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Thank-you Classic-Pirates.com for making my day. No worries, I'm glad that you find our hard work worth while. For many members here, Classic-Pirates.com is a daily stop. Every day we have some brand new news on the frontpage, ranging from MOCs to contests, polls to tutorials. And while you're there, check out our archives of brilliant pirate news. And welcome to the Pirate forum my friend! We are happy to have you here. Quote
Lego12 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Welcome to EB! It really make me happy that you appreciate all our hard work, thanks! Quote
seahawkeye Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 what can I say, this is incredible. Agree that this site is incredible. Great work, everyone involved. Always a thrill to find a few minutes to look here. How much does the classic lego own the current lego? Disagree that classic Lego owns current Lego. There's always been ups and downs, and TLC seems to be on a huge up at the moment. This new Pirate range is a hoot. I've studied the instruction manuals for all the old ships, and I couldn't possibly love them any more than I love Brickbeard's Bounty (must admit, though, that 6270 Forbidden Island and 6273 Rock Island Refuge are awesome hideouts). Dreamweb Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I saw not long ago, they were trying to bring back the knights lego, it just failed though..... From the look of your post, I'm not sure if you've noticed that they also brought back Pirates recently... You should check them out, they're pretty good actually... Quote
SlyOwl Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 ***off to see if i can find a site devoted to indian lego (my equal fave) the ones riding on crocodiles, not the american indians...*** Let us know if you find one. As far as I can see, there isn't a large enough Islander fan base for a seperate site - but that's not to say that Classic-Pirates hasn't got its own Islander fans! Check out - The Islander MOC thread The Islander topic thread And the Islander MOCs on Classic-Pirates Personally, they're my second favourite faction, after Bluecoats. Classic Lego versus Current Lego? I'm going to go with current, as it's more useful for MOCing, unlike the older stuff, although it doesn't have quite the same nostalgic or design value. Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) I can't believe it, I was browsing the web and I wasn't looking for anything lego related but I happenned to come across this site, and what can I say, this is incredible. --> You where browsing the web after anything lego related... that means you still got the Lego-virus... welcome back I would say... --> What you waiting for… step back in this world and each day becomes incredible. Thank-you Classic-Pirates.com for making my day. lol, i remember that face so well... --> Your welcome... ***off to see if i can find a site devoted to indian lego (my equal fave) the ones riding on crocodiles, not the american indians...*** These fellows... Since I haven't raised any points in this thread, I'll let you talk about this (even though it would've been discussed countless times before): How much does the classic lego own the current lego? --> I agree with seahawkeye... ups and downs... but now TLC (The Lego Company) has gone back to the original idea of Lego... sets instead of gadgets... to expressing it simply. I saw not long ago, they were trying to bring back the knights lego, it just failed though..... --> Maybe because Lobby talks about "Knights" and not "Castle",... maybe he's refering to Knights Kingdom II. That wave didn't do well. The Castle line today does a good job now. But like Dreamweb said and I quote: From the look of your post, I'm not sure if you've noticed that they also brought back Pirates recently... You should check them out, they're pretty good actually... Click this LINK and enter a new world. Edited February 20, 2009 by Capt. Kirk Quote
