Dadster Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Not for me, but a nice freebie for kids! Thanks for taking the time to review this. Quote
Ricecracker Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 This might be good for a dirty brickster/buildster type of thing Quote
ILikePi Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 (edited) Its a shame the racers arent like the oatmeal promotion that came with real pieces and good ones at that. I ate so much oat meal in those times and frankly, I freaking hated it. But it was worth it. Well, this is like the opposite. You eat tasty cereal to get OK LEGO pieces. I might not be able to post the police car pictures until Friday. Sorry guys. Edited February 24, 2009 by ILikePi Quote

KimT Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Wow, that's one cheap promotional. Why do they make these semi-crappy things for cereals and McDonalds? C'mon TLG, give us the real deal instead. Here's the bottom of the car. The set number can't be 7190, since that's one of the Millenium Falcon's numbers. And right you are. That's the area code for Billund in Denmark, where the factory is. Quote
ILikePi Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 The police car has the exact same numbers and stuff. So that means that there's no set numbers. Just numbers on the three pieces. Quote
ILikePi Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 I might not have time to post the new pictures for a while, so here's the link to the first picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/32143784@N08/3312238403/ Just keep clicking the next picture to see the rest. Quote
ILikePi Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) .....PART 2: A week or so ago, I got a box of Trix with the banner on it: This time, the car is on top of the bag instead of inside the bag. Yay! Rainbow cereal! Close-up of the bagged car. You can see that I got the police car (yay! ). One bag taken off... Close-up on the back of the sticker sheet. This car has a grey chassis. And the front... Back views (unstickered) Here's the fully stickered set. You can see that I messed up the one on the windshield, so I had to put some glue on it... The racer uses some of the same stickers as the police car in 8152 Speed Chasing: It also looks similar to it. I bet that it was based on that police car. rupi Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Ok, I know this is just to convince kids to buy cereals, but why do they have to call it Lego, this is not LEGO and never will be this is the same as the Batman promotion and the Bionicle promotion in Mc D. Sorry for beeing so direct, but this kind of "lego" gives REAL Lego a bad promotion. I wish The Lego company stop cheating kids like this. I mean it is like Lego is making fake Lego and doesn't even bothers that this crap has the LEGO brand on it. I just don't understand Quote
Taaron Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) Hi guys! Long time lurker, first time poster. Gotta say off the bat, thanks for the pictures of the Police car, ILikePi. It really helped when it came to putting the Siren label on the toy. (Too lazy to go into the kitchen and check the cereal box.) Ok, I know this is just to convince kids to buy cereals, but why do they have to call it Lego, this is not LEGO and never will be this is the same as the Batman promotion and the Bionicle promotion in Mc D. Sorry for beeing so direct, but this kind of "lego" gives REAL Lego a bad promotion. I wish The Lego company stop cheating kids like this. I mean it is like Lego is making fake Lego and doesn't even bothers that this crap has the LEGO brand on it. I just don't understand Maybe cause it's produced by Lego? Anyhow, I gotta stick up for Lego on this promotion. By getting a slight taste with the Cereal Racers, it made me want to get a full set, when I would of probably passed up this year's Racers line. (ended up getting Desert Challenge. Nifty set.) Just wondering, has anyone got a full set of six? So far, I've managed to get 33/Cheerios(1st, from Cookie Crisp. ), Turbo/2fast4u(2nd, Cookie Crisp again), and Police from a box of Cheerios earlier tonight. While I didn't set out to collect the whole set, I'm hoping I can. (I'm also hoping for some duplicates so I can scan the decal sheets. That, and I think they'd be fun to customize other toys with.) Well, nice to meet ya'll, and happy hunting/collecting! Taaron Edited March 15, 2009 by Taaron Quote
ILikePi Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 (edited) I just got a box of Cookie Crisp and Cheerios a few days ago, and I got two different ones! I got that completely orange number 33 racer, and the yellow/green number 14 racer (pictures coming soon! ). I should've scanned the stickers before I applied them...that way, I could have extras, and those who want to use them can print them... By the way, welcome to EuroBricks Tarron! Well, not really "welcome", but I bet you know what I mean. EDIT: First time I used in a post! EDIT (Again): Sorry about all those pictures with my hand in them. I wasn't thinking at that time. ILikePi Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 (edited) Sorry about not posting the new stuff for a while, but I don't have time right now. I'll try to upload the pictures of the other two racers before April 2009 ends. Edited March 21, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
ILikePi Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 UPDATE: I just got another box of Cheerios again, and this time, I got the number 33 Cheerios racer! Now all I need is the "2 FAST 4 U" one...then my life will be complete. Well, not really. Quote
matthew1 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Have you got any new cars lately? We are looking for the red and yellow or blue car. We love them! Hey guys, a week or so ago I saw a commercial advertising General Mills cereal with free LEGO Racers in them. I knew I had to get some of that cereal! Five types of General Mills cereals have it: - Cheerios - Cinnamon Toast Crunch - Cookie Crisp - Lucky Charms - Trix Although the pieces were made in China, they still feel like high-quality plastic. I think that this is a promotion only in the US, sorry Europe and other continents. Ok, on to the pictures! I decided to put clickable pictures, since this is my first topic Here's the box, with the advertisement. Here's a close-up of the ad. Box back. Here's a close-up of the "Driver Stats". Close-up of the racers... You can see that the racer is at the bottom of the cereal I had to get my mom to help me push it out without killing the cereal Here's the car, wrapped up with all the plastic baggy goodness Here's the car compared to a minifig. You can see that I got the blue one. At this point, I stopped to do my homework, and opened the wrap after I finished as a reward Yay! Cinnamon Toast Crunch! I think the last time I ate it was like 3 years or so Yup, it sure is enlarged to show detail Here's the sticker sheet. I refuse to call a DSS because LEGO would never put printed parts on a free LEGO set... The back of the sticker sheet; it tells you where to apply the stickers. Here's the car without stickers. At this point, I had to get another bowl of cereal Here's the bottom of the car. The set number can't be 7190, since that's one of the Millenium Falcon's numbers. The whole car is two pieces. If you have all six, you can make over 200 combinations (according to the box)! The top can fit on backwards The "build time" was around 5 minutes if you work carefully. Those stickers are hard to put on! The two sides after stickered. Front after stickered. Used up SS. The pilot is doing a move in The Matrix The pilot's getting ready for the annual go-kart race Double-decker bus And here's a picture of the top part backwards again. When I was eating dinner a few hours ago, I dropped the car by accident. I then found out that there are three parts to the car, not two! There third part is a 2 x 7 chassis. Here's a picture: And a picture of a "hot rod" : PART 2: A week or so ago, I got a box of Trix with the banner on it: This time, the car is on top of the bag instead of inside the bag. Yay! Rainbow cereal! Close-up of the bagged car. You can see that I got the police car (yay! ). One bag taken off... Close-up on the back of the sticker sheet. This car has a grey chassis. More views: Front-top view Back-side view Side view Front view Mix-and-match: Top pieces, Side view Chassis Backwards police car Backwards top pieces What did I think about these sets? They're great! :) After all, who doesn't like free LEGO? Probably anti-LEGO people. My mom got the cereal on sale for $2.50 instead of $3.50. It's like paying $2.50 for the set! These are probably also new molds! I'm probably going to get more cereal! I want that got the police car , but of course I'm not going to get all 6 cars. They're random for every box. Thanks for reading my first topic! Feel free to click any of the pictures to post comments on that certain picture (if you have a Flickr account). Quote
ILikePi Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 Yes, I also have the red/yellow Cheerios car, the orange car, and the green/yellow one. The only one that I don't have is the "2 FAST 4 U" red/black car. Also, can you delete the quote that you made in your post? There's no point in putting it there, and it just makes people have to wait for longer for the page to load. Quote
puddleglum Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 First, thanks for the reviews. Maybe it's just the pictures, but I can't help but think these look more like Megabloks than LEGO. I also have to agree that these don't seem to put LEGO in a good light at all - they look like cheap toys! Sure, they are OK considering that they are "free", and I understand that prices dictate that there is no way to put "real" LEGO in a cereal box without losing money. My feeling is that if that's the case, they probably should just not be doing this promotion. But what do I know! Quote
calebexo01 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 these are pretty cool! i too remember the days of real brick promos in the US. at least these have studs. maybe this means they are slowly moving back to promos with regular parts! i don't think i will get one of these because i never eat cereal(pancakes are more awesomer!) but i might in hopes of getting the police car(always wanted one of those but missed all opportunities to buy them in sets)and the chassis is cool too. i've already thought of abunch of ways to use it(never got any of the old chassis designs that were 7 pieces long)random question that i hope hasn't been asked yet: do the wheels come off?(wouldn't want to break it by trying but since it's lego, they might) and thanks for the review! Quote
ILikePi Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 No, I don't think that the wheels come off. They're attached to the chassis by metal rods. I need to post pictures of my other three cars later... Thanks for the comments everyone! Quote
ILikePi Posted April 22, 2009 Author Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) Yay! My mom went to WalMart to buy some cereal, and she got a Cinnamon Toast Crunch one with the red and black "2FAST4U" car! Now I have all 6! Note that I actually eat the cereal. Pictures coming soon.... Edited April 22, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
3.14 Toasts Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 These should be available in Germany at McDonalds (in Happy Meals) from the 24.7.2009 (or 7.24.2009). Quote
ILikePi Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Really? That's weird, because I think that the promotion is going to be stopped soon for the US. Now most of these boxes have some weird cash card promotion (1 out of 10 chance of getting a cash card worth $5, $10, or $25). Quote
