Corvus Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I'd like to examine all the weapons around here for traces of blood. There do seem to be a lot of them, don't there. I think I'm in heaven!
Hinckley Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 And I would like to, as Mario, give Peter, as Donkey Kong, a wedgie. An atomic one.
Dragonator Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Curse you all. Peter takes a look at the various instruments of Death, er, that is, weapons, but cannot see from a glance if any of them is the murder weapon. Peter then walks over to the chest hidden in the corner. It is unlocked, and opening it you find inside a single large scroll. Unrolling this you read it aloud: To whom it may concern, If you are reading this then you are obviously somewhere you shouldn't be. I suggest quite strongly that you leave off your exploration, as it will only lead to trouble. Everything you have seen is private and confidential, and it would be in your best interests, and in the interests of the Lord of this Manor, if you left now before you do something you will regret. You have been warned. Oh, and don't pull the lever. Kindest Regards, The Guardian The scroll has a large wax seal accompanying the signature; it is one you will find familiar from earlier... John takes a look at the small dragon statue. It looks similar to those seen in the library; it must be a spare. Max finds that the baby dragon is not hungry, mainly because it is a statue. Sheesh! Lord Chester certainly wasn't the most organized guy was he.... So it may appear... The Chef decides to inspect some of the storage boxes. The chest is an old wooden one with an iron lock (unlocked); you already know what it contains. The barrels are all made of various woods as well; the one to the far left contains cut wood, while the one in front of it contains various combat weapons. The barre to the right contains a sword and a lead pipe. Hey, look over there - those four candles are lit... that means, umm... that means.... It's a lamp. Candles? I thought it was just a hideous lamp... It is quite a nice lamp thank you very much! I'd like to look at that dark red thing on the left side of the room. It's a book I think. That would be a chair. The you probably can't see the legs from the doorway because of that ship's wheel. Max takes a look in the discarded helmet, but does not find anything but dust. The same goes for the other helmet, which he checked at the same time. John meanwhile decides to look at the door at the far end of the room. It is locked, however you can still look through the grill. Beyond you can see a long room stretching to the far end of the house. The room is full of a lot of boxes, crates and barrels, as well as other miscellaneous items such as stone plinths, wooden furniture, chairs, a large oak table, various styles of statues, and other such things. There is nothing else that you can see of any interest. It appears to simply be a large storage room for items of furniture that are not in use, and probably haven't been downstairs in many years. Max, along with John, now takes a look at the roof. Sloping stone rafters hold up the heavy weight of the roof above. Between these rafters you can see some wooden beams running the length of the room, which in turn support all the roof tiles. A small amount of light is let in through the gaps between some of these, however it is still very water tight. Between the second and third rafters to the right of the door you find a large metal lever protruding from the stonework. Peter takes a general look round the room, looking under all the chests and barrels, in search of blood, paper, or any other items of interest. His efforts do not bear fruit however, and he is left trying to pick up a barrel to throw at Max, also unsuccessfully. Dr. Grimsworth decides to inspect all the weaponry in the room for traces of blood, while at the same time delighting in the amazing artefacts. You do not find any traces of blood, but you do find a lot of dust.
Dragonator Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Max pulls down on the lever. Inside the wall you can hear counter-weights shifting, followed by an ominous clang from somewhere deep in the manor. No other effect is apparent. Hmmm, I wonder what that did?
Hinckley Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Yay! I did something. I wonder if I shouldn't have...
Shadows Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 *leaves the room for a moment, returning with his jacket and an unwedgied megablocks* Yay! I did something. I wonder if I shouldn't have... From the sound of it, I think you just unkilled Anthony Blackwater... If that's the case and this level worked the falling chandelier *glances over at Dr. Phil* then the killer may have stood exactly where Max is and pulled it. And now Max has brilliantly obliterated any fingerprints we could have taken from it. Good job, Max! *claps* Honestly though, I have two problems with that theory. One, someone would have to be able to tell where Anthony was standing to know when to pull the lever. Two, if one of us is the killer, we clearly must have an accomplice who could be here to pull that level. Oh, three. I don't know if that's what the lever even does for certain. Might I run back and check, quickly? And could I accidentally elbow Max in the back while I'm running by?
Hinckley Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I'd like to check the floor to see if there's a hole where one might see the ballroom, or whatever room that is where what's-his-butt died...
Sir Dillon Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 That would be a chair. The you probably can't see the legs from the doorway because of that ship's wheel. Okay, well I'll search the chair then, including looking under the seat and all that.
Dragonator Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 The detectives look at each other, wondering what it is, exactly, that Max has done. Peter runs downstairs to see if this liver has any effect on the chandelier in the library, while Max looks for a whole in the floor. He reports that he doesn't find one. Just then, Peter comes panting back up the stairs, to tell them all that the chandelier had not moved at all. While all this excitement is going on, Michael decides to take a look at the chair. It is similar to some of the ones downstairs, although the upholstery is dark red and looks older and more worn. There is nothing under the seat, and nothing else that you can see of interest.
Sandy Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I guess the lever opened a passageway somewhere. But for now, let's see what else this attic has to offer to us. Onwards through that door, gentlemen!
Scouty Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 If that's the case and this level worked the falling chandelier *glances over at Dr. Phil* then the killer may have stood exactly where Max is and pulled it. One, someone would have to be able to tell where Anthony was standing to know when to pull the lever. Two, if one of us is the killer, we clearly must have an accomplice who could be here to pull that level. That's a silly theory. How can a fallen chandelier re-fall It's humorous that mostly everybody is ignoring this Guardian. What if the clang set something dangerous off? And this Guardian, he sounds quite serious. Should we move on? It doesn't look like The room has anything really interesting, though, maybe it does. I'd like to check, with the flashlights we found earlier, to see if there are any footprints that may have been left in the dust in the next room. And also inspect better, with the flashlight, the room. Can we even open this door? Any keys? I want to see if our keys work, IF I find any signs that somebody was here recently (Besides us)
Shadows Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Just then, Peter comes panting back up the stairs, to tell them all that the chandelier had not moved at all.[/i] But I did find this lovely bottle of whiskey I'd previously missed! Shall we retire to the bedroom now? That's a silly theory. How can a fallen chandelier re-fall Hey Mr. Reading Comprehension! I said unkilled thus insinuating that perhaps the weights shifted back to their previous positions and lifted the chandelier back into place. It's humorous that mostly everybody is ignoring this Guardian. What if the clang set something dangerous off? Guardian schmardian. You pay attention to him, I think he's just a big joke, like that Dragon chap over there...
Scouty Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Hey Mr. Reading Comprehension! I said unkilled thus insinuating that perhaps the weights shifted back to their previous positions and lifted the chandelier back into place. Ah, my mistake! Going on the whole night without sleep boggles the mind Guardian schmardian. You pay attention to him, I think he's just a big joke, like that Dragon chap over there... It's probably not wise to make fun of somebody who has probably killed two people now . Assuming it was him or the guy among us that is involved. Say, has anyone seen Mr. Knightly anywhere?
Corvus Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Guardian schmardian. You pay attention to him, I think he's just a big joke, like that Dragon chap over there... It's a trap!! Ahem...humor aside, I seriously beleive that it would be very, very easy for someone to hide in this mansion. There are certainly plenty of places to hide, and the fact that we're locked in here is also interesting. Maybe we should be on the lookout. Besides, as Mr. Spencer pointed out, there have been two people killed just recently.
Shadows Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 While we're waiting to do something *presses one to continue in English* ... It's probably not wise to make fun of somebody who has probably killed two people now . Assuming it was him or the guy among us that is involved. Maybe we should be on the lookout. Besides, as Mr. Spencer pointed out, there have been two people killed just recently. Get a load of these two, Max! What's say we start calling them Nancy 1 and Nancy 2?
Dragonator Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 Is the upholstery dark red from blood? Negative, it is just the colour of the fabric. John takes the flash-light and has another look through the door. With the added light, you can see that the room is very dusty, with a thick layer covering the floor. There are no footprints of any kind. None of the keys you have with you fit the lock. Say, has anyone seen Mr. Knightly anywhere? A very good question...
Erdbeereis Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I think we should move on if that's alright with the rest of you.
Dragonator Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 If everyone (who actually cares) is in agreement, then where would you like to go next?
Sandy Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Okay, so door to the rest of the attic is locked? Can we go to the bedroom downstairs, or is the bookshelf too heavy to move? If so, then we should try out the remaining two keys on the door in the ballroom and the door on the first floor (aka kitchen door).
