Ricecracker Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 This is my first post! God, I knew someone would do this. . I was even thinking about adding "If you have never posted, please don't post in here by saying something like, "This is my first post," but refrained from actually doing so. Quote
JimBee Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Very interesting topic, ricecracker, this is a great way to get to know members better (epecially the older ones). Anyways, here's me, a little over a year ago. i got the the jedi star fighter w/ booster ring recently, and its really great and all, but something was very weired about this set. i built it, (it looked awesome!) but it had a bunch of spare pieces, like 100 or so, and most werent even the parts index in the manual. i got about five black minifig heads, 2 new mold blasters, and a bunch of other parts. this was cool, but really weird. this never happened 2 me before, so can somebody please explain? X-O Ah, those were the days... I was such a noob. I actually started a topic for my first post, asking about my JSF w/ Hyperdrive Booster Ring set coming with extra parts (you can see the topic here). Hinckley's response still gives me a laugh when I look back on it. Oh, and I've never officially introduced myself on these boards. Should I, before it's too late? Quote

I just realized three weird things. 1) Your member # is 6 after me, yet you joined almost two months after me. EDIT: Never mind, I was looking at your post count 2) I was the first person to reply to that thread. 3) A lot of older-ish (Like us) members have never introdunced ourselves. Just thought I'd point those things out Edited February 22, 2009 by ricecracker Quote

I never did introduce myself , and it'd probably a bit late nearly 4 years later Edited February 23, 2009 by legoman Quote
AwesomeStar Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Here's mine, my opinion on the Volcano Base, and Shoc's avatar Yeah, it DOES have a face! WEIRD! BTW - Shoc, your avatar's body and hood appeals to me. Tell me what set you got them from please? Quote

legotrainfan Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 (edited) Hi!I'm a newbie here but eager to discuss everything that has something to do with my beloved hobby. I usually prefer LEGO train stuff as my user name indicates, but I also have some sets of other themes, of cours, but they are mostly quite old. My love in LEGO space has not been reborn since Blacktron II and Ice Planet. All that came afterwards did not interest me. The same is true for the castle series. I have the Inn and the Black Falcon's Fortress, both legends. I don't have any newer castle sets. So, as I said, I am mostly interested in train sets and city sets to make the whole layout look nicer. By the way, I have 9V trains only and my heart broke into a million pieces when TLC announced that 9V stuff was being discontinued. I also didn't like the introduction of the new hinges, but I must admit they are more stable than the old ones. I didn't like it when LEGO introduced the blay colours. Nothing against the new colours if the old ones were still produced. But when blay came out, prieces for old gray bricks on bricklink went up terribly. But I do have some sets with blay in them, of course. The colour change did not make me stop buying LEGO products. That was my introduction. I wrote it in the "TLC's stupidest decision" thread. I saw the thread for introductions too late but introduced myself there as well, then providing some more details about myself. Well, what shall I say? Castle Town Square 10193 has awoken my interest in the castle theme again, but I think my newly aroused interest will remain limited to that set. And Emerald Night 10194 has made me partly forget the end of the 9V era; but only PARTLY and not completely! And I've become used to bley; I sometimes even appreciate the existence of light bley.
