Da Death Star! Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I was looking at the Online Instructions for sets, and couldn't find PM.Strange,I thought,I looked and looked, but couldn't find PM anywhere on the list.Dissapointed,I decided to check out another theme called Inner Earth.Wierd name.Thought I.I clicked on the name, and to my surprise, all the names of the PM sets were there!Bewildered,I clicked on the name Mine Mech. The little box appeared,a picture of the MM was there.Creeped out a bit,I clicked the Download button. The window came up,and there was the front page of the MMs IB. My question is:WTH Lego? (_)The guy whose bewildered by name changes(_) Quote
Brickthing Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I'm not sure, but I thought that Inner Earth was one of the earlier names for Power Miners, but they changed it to Power Miners in the end, because it sounded more exciting. Quote
Faramir Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Maybe Power Miners is to be just a subtheme of a much broader underground series? Sounds possible... Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 While "Inner Earth" sounds realy cool to the ears of us geeks/nerds and well read adults (If you are into fantasy and SF) it sounds sort of boring to the ears of your average seven year old, doesn't it? Now Power Miners sound "awesome" (as my little brother puts it). So LEGO changed the name to one that is quick, punchy and very discriptive that attracts their target demographic. Market Reasearch my friend... Market Research. I have to say, Inner Earth is evocative of many interestingy things. How about everyone try building a MOC that would fit into an Inner Earth theme (as you see it). Not really a contest or anything, but a cool idea presentation. I think I know what I am going to build today Quote
