Huntleyfx Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 "Angry" Jack Williamson, a former Jack Tar who was drummed out of the service for striking a superior officer. He now has a policy of taking no prisoners. Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 (edited) And your pirate is from which country ? It may sound like a stupid question but it's important for his first name & surname. At least for me it's important... but I don't know for you of course ! Edited February 6, 2009 by Capt. Kirk Quote

At least for me it's important... but I don't know for you of course ! My apologies, Capt. Kirk, living in the colonies; I have a nasty habit of assuming most pirates are from the U.K. (prior to it being the U.K.) That's just what operated off of our coast. Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 (edited) Michel Fourmi... it's French for Michael Ant... only it sounds better in French (it is even still an existing name in France). He is a pirate with a great talent to escape and he don't need much space to get's his body true. He had to escape from France because of murder. Edited February 6, 2009 by Capt. Kirk Quote

Ryan_T Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 I am from the US of A so.... The pirate is a Caribbean Pirate! :) Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 (edited) If you go to this link and register you MAYBE get a lot of Caribbean surmanes. But don't forget that the Caribbean population is a coalescence of several nationalities (English, French, Spanish, Portuges, Dutch, ect). So I think everything goes ?! What you also can do is via Google searchin' under "surnames + explanation + some country" Edited February 6, 2009 by Capt. Kirk Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 What you also can do is via Google searchin' under "surnames + explanation + some country" That's very helpful! I have to think about some names for persons, pubs and French ships. It's rather difficult. Thanks for your help on this. Quote
Blackheart Brit Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Cheap Chuck, there is no reward for his name. Real name is Charles Wentworth. Born in Wales and began sailing at 12 aboard a merchant ship. Years later they were attacked by Pirates and he chose to join them not die. Been with that crew ever since. Or something like that. Arrggh Matey. Quote
Ryan_T Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 Thanks for all the reply's! I'll choose name tomorrow to give some people a chance post if they want :) Quote

Admiral Croissant Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) you can also search for crewmembers of famous ships. for example, here is the crew list of HMS Bounty: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancest...oty/bounty.html Edited February 7, 2009 by YnyklY Quote
Huntleyfx Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Don't forget literature! I think every ship needs a first mate called Ishmael. Quote
