I much prefer the metaphysical to action. TV just doesn't do it for me, if there isn't some mystical/sci-fi element to it.

The only things I didn't like about the finale:

1. Cavil committing suicide. That just didn't seem right. He should have gone out fighting, rather than a couple second frame of 'frak,' bang!

2. The whole Baltar cult seemed like a wasted subplot that didn't do anything

3. I wanted to see/learn more of Daniel...

I agree with all of these things. The Cavil assassination was totally random and not necessary.

I think the Baltar cult was really necessary for character development. Baltar annoyed me in the first two seasons, but he expanded and became a better character.

I definitely wanted to learn more about Daniel. He was only mentioned once and then he was gone.
