7884 Batman's Buggy: The Escape of Mr. Freeze

Hey guys, I missed the above set when it was at retail.

But, I was wondering if someone could tell me what the big deal is. I looked for it on Ebay and Bricklink and the prices are starting at $50. For a $10 set. Did I miss something??

The only thing I could think of is Mr. Freeze, but, come on!? He is only $8.00 on Bricklink!

These sets disappeared so fast where I am. I saw them one day and the next they were gone.

Did Lego recall them or what??

We don't know about the future of Batman. But I'am sure that 2008 was the last year of our lovely series.

And yes the prices are really extreme. Because all people want to get some last Batman set's. If you buy one of these, try to get some of older years. They will be cheaper as the line from last year

Don't spend the money. Forget it, its a dull set obviously designed for smaller kids. I bought it fo $10 and felt cheated. Really, you arent missing much.

They made the decision to drop the line right when they were about to release the last line. So the sets are "limited edition" without the usual label for that. I indeed think that there are much less than for example the Hoth Base or last X-Wing, even if they were officially limited.

In my opinion the most stupid decision to have a video game out with all the lovely characters and vehicles, that you cannot get anywhere! The other day I just overheard a conversation in my local Lego store, when a kid asks the father where the batman sets are. I don't think this was a unique moment.

I agree, try to get some older sets, perhaps you are more lucky, and they are way better I think. (the ebay prices are amazing even for these sometimes, I saw a Batcave before xmas go away for almost 200 US$!)

I have all the Batman sets except the above and 7886, The Batcycle: Harley Quinn's Hammer Truck!

I was searching for the 2 I am missing and that is when I found the crazy prices!!

I am a completist (sp), I also have all the System and UCS Star Wars sets from 99 till now.

It's a pretty poor set but the pieces in it I've found very useful for MOCs, though judging on the price it's going for now on ebay I wish I'd kept it sealed in it's box :(

I know what you mean, i was short of money last christmas so wasn't able to buy any, and i can't get the TDK suit batman keyring either.

No big deal on this set. People are just going crazy with the Batman stuff because it's not longer available. It's funny how we humans behave. When there's something we can't have, our desire for it increases. Don't worry, you are not missing anything special.
