I wanted to ask poeple this:

1. In creator, a few years back, they had 6 or 8 alternate models. Now they have 2! Snarl!

2. Racers? Tiny Turbos had 8 TTs in '05, 6 in '06, and from '07 on they've been producing 4 per year, not including the big packs like Bullet Run and Brick Street Customs.

why Why WHy WHY lego????

Does anyone know why lego had suddenly gone all cheapo and effortless? The models are great but they could produce more of them! That's for sure!!

Why why why Raphy must you open a rant thread about TLG? Don't we see enough of this from "fans?" Is it a love/hate relationship? You can't love them unless you occasionally hate them? Or perhaps this is an age-old case of familiarity breeding contempt. Perhaps it's time for you and TLG to enter into couple's therapy...

How DARE they only give you instructions to build two models?!? That limits people's imaginations SO MUCH!!!!

Seriously, wtf?

You need to think OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. The point of LEGO is something that you can make many things with. You're limited by your imagination. If you need more than two sets of instructions to build things from, I feel sorry for you.

Why even post this seriously? I mean the entire point of lego is to make your own stuff and design your own product sure modols are great but if you do not have enogh imagination in your entire body to make your own lego product then go buy some megablox! Those do not let you use your imagination at all there perfect for you!

To answer your questions:

1. Each altarnative model costs money to design and produce instructions for. So the more alternative models there are the more money the set will cost. And LEGO need to keep their prices down in order to compete with Mega Blocks etc. And to be honest I think that 3 models are quite enough.

2.) I guess the sales of racers are enough to keep it going year after year. But the tiny Turbos don't sell enough to support 8 different sets. And even with only 4 sets I think LEGO has a hard time varying the designs. I think this years Tiny Turbos feel all too familiar. :sceptic:

Tiny Turbos are definetly starting to get old to me...

Seems like they're running out of possible designs that fit into that kind of small space.

I blame the fact that half of them use the very same wheel and mudguard pieces. They need to get away from that if they're ever going to make different TT racers.

It seems like LEGO has realized this as one of the coming tiny turbos "bigpacks" are monster trucks.
