If Lego stopped being produced.........

I was thinking as I looked at a topic on BZP about what would happen to BZP if Bionicle ceased to exist,and I thought,what would happen to Eurobricks if Lego ceased to exist?Depressing,I know.But nothing can last forever,can it?Lego will eventually die,won't it?Personally,I hope not.

So what do you think would happen to Eurobricks when if lego ceases to exist?How long do you think it would last without its subject?

I think EB would probably survive for a few months,maybe even a year or two,but it probably wouldn't last longer than that.

I think that they would last for quite a while as people would still be building and buying stuff off of bricklink.

A few months? Seriously, the death of TLC as a company won't stop lego fans of all ages from talking about it and sharing their creations online - lego is simply too popular a toy for that to happen. Eurobricks will live on with or without TLC, as will the general online community.

But seriously, I don't think there's much to worry about anyway. TLC is going strong, their products are increasing in quality every year, and their profits are soaring. They didn't just get out of the dark ages with no work, you know.

It'd still be here for a long, long time. Sure, the 'new sets' topic would see a sudden lack of interest, but we'd still be worshipping our favorite toy. Just because lego no longer makes Classic Space, that doesn't stop some people from obsessing about it.

I was thinking about this in the car ride from LEGOLAND today. I think the online community would stay very strong. Because I'm not a LEGO fan simply for NEW sets coming out, I'm a fan for what I already have!

Well, some things would no longer be dealt with; the discussions on newly released sets would cease and sooner or later all sets would be reviewed. But people could still moc and share their mocs with the other users. The forum activitiy might cease a bit, but I don't think eurobricks would stop existing, at least not for a longer period of time.

If LEGO wasn't produced anymore, we would have to switch to Mega Bloks or Playmobil. Preferably the latter!! *just kidding*

Fanbases are undying, my friend. The original star wars saga is over (I don't count the expanded stuff), yet look at it's original fans, and it's booming profit. Lego is a toy that goes on forever, legos are undying, and they can be passed down from generation to generation, there will always be fans, that's the toys main point here. From these blocks, we can create an infinite amount of other toys.

Eurobricks, as well as other Lego comunity based websites would still exhist for years and years. There are many websites that are dedicated to other hobbies that aren't being made anymore (certain model cars for example), that have huge fan followings and are still running strong. Other than not having new topics about new sets, EB would be the same as it is today.

I need to offer two things to this topic.

1) The "Hello Kitty" has a different color of paint on her brush than that of the paint in her bucket. Color blind?

2) It doesn't matter in Lego dies. While it would be sad, there is no reason why people would not still share. i'm sure it would die out when all the bricks were old and disgusting and in bad condition, but that would be a long time from now. You know, we're using up all our resources, but we'll let our children's children worry about that .

I predict that if this apocryphal event occurred, however unlikely, the youngest generation which had been using Lego at the time LEgo stopped production would keep the LEgo enthusiasm alive until they themselves expired. But I say that LEgo dies with the Universe!

Interesting question, what will we become?

Simple answer I think!

We will always LIVE WITH OUR LEGO! Because if the production is stopped, playing with this beauties bricks will never stopped.
