KMOI Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Hey everyone, I just wanted to show off my newest MOC. I was really tempted to do a mecha of sorts after looking at the new ExoForce sets. Anyways, without firther audieu, here is Strike Freedom Gundam! I guess this will need a bit of info to put it into context. Basically, I was going to the "powersuit" construction until I realized that I was far, far to lazy (and busy) to build a powersuit that I wanted. So instead, I decided to go for a mecha like my Snake-Eyes MOC before. Now about the actual thing itself. It has two swords, one long and one short (To get to all those hard-to-reach places). Also, those white beams you see sticking out of his hips are a pair of rail guns, which fire huge laser blasts. The wings you see in the back were also very hard to make. At one time, I had to make it less fragile, yet I wanted to have them be able to fold up. As a result, you get what you see now. Well, enjoy! PS: Strangely enough, you don't see alot of mini-mechs on these boards... Perhaps I shall be called the mini-mech master? :-D Nah, I'm just foolin'. Quote
SuvieD Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 It looks very Gundam except maybe the head. It looks to smooth to be a gundam head. Nice work. Quote
jonfett Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Once again, I don't know what concept you're working off.. but you seem to ahve done a job. I see you have got the articulaiton in the arms, shoulders and wings. Looks nice next to your last guy too. Only complaint.. too colourful. I say this as a general thing*, you seem to have about 6+ colours in there and it is hard to see whats happening. Try limit yourself to 2-4 colours and it will look great IMHO! :) * of course if you are trying to recreate something like a character I see why you need all the colours, to match it. Jon. Quote
KMOI Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 LOL, yes, it is slightly too colourful, but I wanted him to be this way. ;) You see, the primary colours for the thing are supposed to be white, blue, red, gold and grey. :oD Oh the pretty colors! Anyways, here's the reference image. :-D http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/4518/sfreedom9um0jn.jpg Quote
jonfett Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Ah yes! You definately captured that well. Now that I see the reference I can see what you wanted to recreate, I think that to make it a little more accurate, add more white, as the pic has quite a large amount of white compared to the other colours. Other than that, great! :) Jon. Quote
