Talon Karrde Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 The river Ilweyr snakes through the luscious, fertile valley, making it a seemingly tranquil place. But the mountains which brought the meandering river also brought death. Out of them, like minions of the underworld, the trolls came too. Small villages were unable to defend themselves against such ruthless evil. However, as time passed one small village began to thrive as the numbers of traders coming through their gates from the Great Salt Routes of the East increased. Soon the small village became a town, with enough resources to defend itself. It's population increased dramatically as people from surrounding villages left their vulnerable homes to make their fortunes in the safety and security of the Market Town. With the discovery of Gold in the mountains the Goblins were driven almost to extinction by an invasion of the gold-hungry Dwarves. Brickshelf Hope you have enjoyed my MOC, I intend to do more profiles on the town if this one is well recieved and i have enough time. Quote
Buttons Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Wow, those walls are so ... big! Good work Quote
Athos Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I like that tent cover for the market stall. Nice use of old and new grey too... Steve Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I love it! Especially the cage with the skeleton in it, the dwarven crane and the loads of details make this to an outstanding creation. Quote
Teddy Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I love it!Especially the cage with the skeleton in it, the dwarven crane and the loads of details make this to an outstanding creation. Yep the cage is also one of my favoutite details. The embrasures are a nice touch as well. Kind regards, Teddy Quote
Sir Dillon Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Nice! I like the contrast between the crowded inside and the serenity of the outside. The embrasures on the wall and the cage are neat details, and so is the wooden platform. Why is there a guard standing on the winch? I am also curious as to why the lower wall is black? Quote
mania3 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Wow, this is a great MOC! I really like this one, the attention to detail is great. And like someone else said, the contrast between the chaos inside the city wall and the serenity outside is great! You can almost hear the hubbub and clamor as people go about their business. Quote

The guard is winching up the cage in preparation for the new occupant (the troll) and the wall is not black, it is dark green, to represent moss on the walls or slime (because of the river) Thanks for all the comments people!
