dieselboy m Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 (edited) I shot this last November as an homage to the LEGO minifig in general since it was the 30th anniversary of the LEGO minifig. I chose to use just the classic space men because Space has always been my favorite LEGO theme. Plus, at the time I had just pulled out some minty fresh vintage sets from 1978 (and up) out of box that was in storage a long time, and thought I’d start with these to show them off... ;) Edited January 10, 2009 by dieselboy m Quote

dieselboy m Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 (edited) mmm, purdy Thanks! I'd like to see more pix of your minty fresh sets. Seconded. Here ya go... Those pics were taken in March 2007, I'd just moved into a new house with my family and it provided the perfect time to do something I've been meaning to do for years - go through all my old boxes in storage to finally sort and organize all my childhood toys that had been boxed up. I was lucky enough that my parents never gave away my toys, instead they boxed everything up as I got new stuff, so I still had everything I ever had since I was a kid (I collect all kinds of toys, not just LEGO). These pics were during the sorting process, and there was a lot! That's the pile of LEGO, which was spread out through several boxes. Soon after I boxed them all up again because I was going to be leaving for vacation in the Philippines. I was originally scheduled to be in the Philippines for three months, but those three months turned into a YEAR and three months! I've been back in California since late August, and have yet to go back through all those vintage LEGO again, but I did peek in the box a little and pulled out some loose minifigs (which you can see in the bottom right of the second picture, they're in a Ziploc bag). :) If you'd like to see photos of ALL the toys I uncovered, you can check them out here! mania3 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Oh great. Now I've gotten drool all over my keyboard. I just flashed to my childhood and squealed with delight then flashed to my adulthood and squealed again. I generally don't squeal but, WOWEEEEE! Hahahah. Quote
Spacefan Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Man, and you saved them with ALL their boxes in mint shape no less!!!(jaw drops) Your sitting on a gold mine dude, and I'm sitting here flushed with envy... Quote
dieselboy m Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 Oh great. Now I've gotten drool all over my keyboard. I just flashed to my childhood and squealed with delight then flashed to my adulthood and squealed again. I generally don't squeal but, WOWEEEEE! Hahahah. Hahaha, I'm glad this is just over the internet, 'cause a man should never witness another grown man squealing... Oh. My. God. That. Is. A. Lot. Of. Unopened. Old. Sets. Man, and you saved them with ALL their boxes in mint shape no less!!!(jaw drops) Yeah, they are opened, but barely played with and kept back in the box. I have yet to go through all of them and check exactly what condition they're in now, and how complete they all are. Hopefully soon. Your sitting on a gold mine dude, and I'm sitting here flushed with envy... Hehe, never really thought about it like that. I have a lot of vintage toys from my childhood - GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man, et cetera. I plan on selling almost all of them, but the thought never crossed my mind to check the value on these, or consider selling them... Quote
