WhiteHexagon Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Just saw an advert for this show at the local railway station, might be of interest to any Swiss on here. Not got any more details yet, think it was starting the 16th Jan and running for a few weeks at least. Anyway I think I'm gonna head down there and take a look, they even have LEGO to keep the missus occupied Quote
WhiteHexagon Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 So I finally made it down to Basel at the weekend. The show is 17.60CHF for entry (discount with rail card) and worth not a penny of it :( Actually that's may be a little harsh. The 50 years of barbie was quite interesting! but the show should have been called '50 years of barbie and a few LEGO models that you bought last year'. Seriously the LEGO side of the show was really really poor. For sure I was under the false impression that I was going to see 50 years of LEGO which already had my expectations too high, but there was hardly any LEGO there at all. Some credit to the 1000steine crew for populating 50% of the boxes with fan MOC's. But the rest were mostly a few sets from the last couple of years like cafe corner, bat mobile, taj mehal, beatle and iffle tower. I took some photos to share, but really you are not missing anything if I don't post them. So save your money and browse brick shelf for 20mins instead is my advice. Cheers Peter Quote
Holodoc Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Sorry to hear about your disappointment. I, like you, would have expected a lot more than what you described. But I really appreciate that you reported about the show here. At least this may prevent other AFOLs to go there. So thank you anyway! Quote
