Klaus-Dieter Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 (edited) Hello everybody! Before my Christams semester holidays are over and the first tests are arriving I wanted to show you my last TV MOC I designed with LDD: TV Car Chase Pieces: 254 Price: ??? And action! After a hot car chase through Lego City: The criminal runs into the womans car. He gets off his van and walks with his pistol towards the woman which got off her car, too. One bang and - cut! Is the sequence ready or must it be re-enact? This set comes with a camera van, a big van for the criminal, another car, criminal, woman, cameraman and assistant. Comments are welcome! Skinny Boy Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Great scene Klaus! I the gray jeep, though I wish the windows came in gray aswell... Quote
DJ Force Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Given the size of the wheels and the feel of the whole set, I´d rather have gone with 6 stud wide cars. The set just doesn´t scream "classic town 4 studs" to me. You´ve got a pretty realistic looking film camera, but 4 stud wide cars just don´t look as realistic as 6 studs. Quote

Zorbas Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 The grey (is it grey?) vehicle is absolutely great Klaus-Dieter! There is something about the general shape of it that is eye-capturing. Just a small point. If you could tile the back roof so that the pieces that hold the door can come at the same level with the front roof and change the back windows colour (grey) then it would be ever better IMO. Is it possible that we could have a 360 view of this vehicle? again! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Thank you all very much for your nice comments! Great scene Klaus! I the gray jeep, though I wish the windows came in gray aswell... Thanks, Skinny Boy! LDD regrettably doesn't offer that type of windows in grey - otherwise I'd of course used them. Given the size of the wheels and the feel of the whole set, I´d rather have gone with 6 stud wide cars. The set just doesn´t scream "classic town 4 studs" to me.You´ve got a pretty realistic looking film camera, but 4 stud wide cars just don´t look as realistic as 6 studs. Thanks, DJ Force! I'm really not a big fan of 6 stuck wide cars. They might look more realistic - that may be right. But nevertheless I prefer 4 stuck wide cars since they remind me of the classic Town/City sets. Plus I simply like them much more than 6 stuck wide since they look more lovely and don't need that much space on the road plates. You've made another fantastic LDD MOC Klaus-Dieter. I like the grey van although I think it could use some tiling. The red and white vehicle is probably my favorite one. IMO it looks great as a 4 stud wide vehicle, and I like the inclusion of some classical pieces such as the doors and mudguards. I think that the camera truck could use a bit of work though . I love the camera, but it just seems a little bit too skinny. I think that if you turned it into a six stud wide vehicle it might look better. Thanks, MacK! I really would have liked to add car doors to the other two cars, too, but regrettably LDD only offers them in red. And I thought that it would look really bad if I add red doors to a car which should be grey or white-blue. Maybe next you should make a bank robbery with SWAT units storming it to try and capture the crooks . That's a great idea, MacK! I already designed a SWAT unit a long time ago - but with real minifigs (with LDD that wouldn't look good). I only have to add some stickers (special torsos) to them. Then I'll perhaps show them to you around Easter. The grey (is it grey?) vehicle is absolutely great Klaus-Dieter! There is something about the general shape of it that is eye-capturing. Just a small point. If you could tile the back roof so that the pieces that hold the door can come at the same level with the front roof and change the back windows colour (grey) then it would be ever better IMO. Is it possible that we could have a 360 view of this vehicle? again! Thanks, Zobras! Like already mentioned the windows are regrettably not available in grey in LDD. To the back roof of the grey van: I wanted to design it in that way - but that's very difficult since the plate above the cockpit is not straight on the left and the right side. Plus the roof of the luggage trunk has to be affixed, too. And then there is again always the problem that some bricks are not available in LDD - and some are only available in other colors. To the 360° view of the grey van: I don't want to upload that many pics on BS since I already have there surely already minimum 100 pics. But when you download LDD and go to Lego.Factory, there to the gallery and enter my name you can find my gallery where you can download the inventory of this my MOC, too. Klaus-Dieter Quote

Klaus-Dieter About LDD: I know what you mean. I too had my nerves tensed when i first started creating with LDD 2 months ago. That is why sometimes real life build is better About Lego.Factory: I've checked your MOC's but i didn't find TV Car Chase Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 About Lego.Factory: I've checked your MOC's but i didn't find TV Car Chase I checked my Lego.Factory gallery: TV Car Chase: "Pending approval" - that means it'll take one or some days until it'll be public. So please be patient. Klaus-Dieter Quote

Skull-Mark_Ladybug Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Thanks, MacK! I really would have liked to add car doors to the other two cars, too, but regrettably LDD only offers them in red. And I thought that it would look really bad if I add red doors to a car which should be grey or white-blue. Maybe you could still add them to the grey van, if you added them as part of a red stripe or a flame decal . Also I can't wait to see your SWAT units, do they have a van or armored vehicle to ride around in? Quote

That's a really good idea, MacK - I didn't think of that yet! Also I can't wait to see your SWAT units, do they have a van or armored vehicle to ride around in? They only have simple black cars which I designed after the instruction of the car in the 6472 Gas N' Wash Express set (of course my cars have a blue light on top). There will even be some sharpshooters and some aquanauts. Klaus-Dieter Quote
