DoubleT Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Again thanks to Cutty lol - new CITY (Ambulance!, Airport fire-engine!, Hospital!, Passanger Airplane!, Airport!, Airplane mechanic!, Medic's car!, Rescue helicopter!) Here you can discuss both Airport an Hospital :) Quote
DoubleT Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 Saved alittle of the pics... Here is the Hospital Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 That airport looks really cool, but I think the plane looks way too jack stone-ish. :/ Quote
kotua Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I think I'll buy the legends airport instead...as it actually has a runway... the airport mechanicanic is an good set to get more tools, an minifig, and the engine piece. airport fire engine is interesting, but why can't lego make up tis mind about the color of the fire extinguishers? ambulance is okay, but one minifig only? hospital is a bit more decent, but seems to be another version of the fire station. Hobbes Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Edit: OK, I just found the other thread where the sets are being discussed. Will post there... Quote
blueandwhite Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Is anybody else alarmed by the noticable increase of <insert that tiresome argument> elements this year? Maybe I'm alone on this, but it seems that this years sets are more like playmobil than LEGO. Just wondering if anybody feels the same way? Personally, that plane is NOT LEGO!!! Later. Quote

Later. you're not alone, i'm affraid... these planes remind me of Fisher-Price toys, they may be cool or nice or whaever, but they hardly seem like lego to me either... However, i'm kind of hoping to see them in detail and up close. perhaps the interior may be great... in any case, if i ever buy the plane, and i don't think i'll ever will, i will at least give it lego wings... the airport theme doesn't give me good vibes, anyway. looks like one to forget asap... catch-22 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 These sets make me long even more for late 80's to mid 90's sets. Quote
SuvieD Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I think the airport looks very much like the newer airports you see in Europe. It is very nice looking and if you add a baggage claim and boarding area you could have a great airport. *satis* The hospital is a little odd. It has the 70's building look with a weird baseplate and setup. If I was into town stuff I would take it off and put it on a normal baseplate and add a garage for the ambulance. ;) I love the sleek look of the airplane. It must have five or six large parts but for a plane who cares. Those 80's and 90's plane could hold like what 4 passangers. I bet this bad boy can hold 20+. And think of the spaceship MOCs you could make with one or two of these. :o Fairly nice stuff. It isn't more police or firemen (mostly). Now next year they can make stores to complete a nice town. We houses (designer), police, firemen, airport, hopital, and now we need shops. A bakery, an outdoor cafe, a grocery store and a toy store. I mean who needs clothes or furniture? ;) Thanks LEGO for filling out town with some nice sets. Quote

christopher110 Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Before that, I was excited to hear that there'll be a hospital set in year 2006. However, after viewing the pics, I'm very disappointed with the design. The colour is just not right. Too many red pieces....... (just my opinion). I thought this hospital set would have more emphasize on the interior........ like having an operation room, service counter, x-ray room, ward...... I'm not a fan of small vehicles (basically, i'm a fan of bigger set), so, i won't comment any of them........ The airport set seems a bit smaller than what I expected. Built on 32x16 baseplate..........?! It could have been larger.......... I like the rotating door (I know it's not new) and all the transparent pieces. I'm totally addicted to this kind of pieces. However, the use of white and black big pieces turn me off a bit. The plane is ok........... It looks very realistic and sleek....... though consists of some big pieces (which are not very useful to do MOC but I'm the kind of pure collector, so, I can tolerate with it.....) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Thanks for sharing the images. Although these do look pretty <insert that tiresome argument>, maybe we'll see some more detailed models in '06 (at least it's not Jack Stone or Big Pirates). - will definately stick to the airport Legend over this new airport.
