I'm sorry, but I don't see most of those as real options. For starters, all of them except the first one lack a place for a door - the purpose of the hallway module in the first place was to grant an access to the rooms from the outside, so that the doors wouldn't lead unrealistically to other rooms instead.

I'm not sure what the second option even is, and the rest of them have windows on both sides - so where would the rooms go in those cases?

I'm not trying to run down this voting, but I believe there has been a misunderstanding on the purpose of the hallway module.

Here are pictures of how I figured it would work in practice:

The hallways can be different sizes depending on the room they go with, and they can be stacked and connected from each side.

The hallways can be detached from the rooms to gain better access to them. So the door to the room would be in the hallway module, not in the room module.

I don't see why we can't use all hallways. All of the hallways have the same basic structure and modularity, and they're all the same colours, so they would all look good amongst each other. Just as the other modules are different from module to module, why can't the hallways be so as well?

We're just voting on a hallway because we want everything in the keep to look pretty consistent. Certainly, someone could put a statue in their hallway or if you're building one of the modules on the first floor you can add a door out in to the courtyard.

Think of it kind of like the back wall for the other modules. There is a basic design, but everyone doesn't have to follow it EXACTLY. Some people didn't have the little slopes for the top part so they used a different color or something else, and some people added various features to the wall to make it look a little different like Guss did by adding some stuff in the middle of the wall.

Without a standard for the hallway, there would be far too many questions about "What should the hallway look like?" so it's easiest and best to just have a standard hallway design.

I voted for number one, simply because I thought it looked simple, but elegant.

I may need to change out one or two of the parts I don't think I have though, that's okay as far as I know right?

In the large opening in the side of #1, are we supposed to include a door, or just leave it open?

Yup, it's fine if someone doesn't have the pieces to make the hallway exactly the way the design is.

That's up to you. If you want a door, throw in some hinges and a door. If you just want an arch, that's fine too! I think that this is just kind of a starting point for when you build. Minor additions and changes are fine :classic:

Same here. I like your designs, ISC, but I think they're just too complex, piece-wise. I don't really understand 2, though...

Plus, I already made my hallway in the style of 1. :tongue:

Im happy to call 1 the winner by a landslide, it was my fav too.

Sandy, I wasn't trying to exclude doors, im just looking for a basic design to work off, because doors to each room can be completely different, and I didn't have the time to spend building all the different modules with many types of doors either.

Lets lock in Thrash's design and keep the good builds rolling! :classic:

Ah, I see... I was just thrown off by the windows on both sides. :tongue: I apologize if I seemed rude, I just thought it was a misunderstanding or something.

By the way, the first one was my original design, Trash just simplified it and transferred it to LDD (thanks for that, again!). :wink:

Its all good, I do like yours and Thrash's best, just wanted to see what others thought, and since no one else had any ideas, I whipped up all of my variants.

I got 90 votes, thanks for asking! Not enough to get elected, but still quite much. :grin:

And yes, you can expect more modules coming from me in the near future. Right now I'm furiously making screens for the last chapter of Princess Quest, but after that, for sure!

No problem! I think I gave you credit when I first transferred it to LDD with the lion and everything just like you made it, but I forgot to give you credit again when I took the lion out. Sorry! :blush:

I think all the design are great but I voted for 1 because it is simple, yet detailed and far surpasses the others in form. :thumbup: Great job to whoever designed it.

Firstly, whilst I haven't been following the EBWIPHTMLBBCGCSEMBEMOCSNOTLOLROFLCCBwhatever :tongue: , I like what you're doing here :thumbup: A lot! :wub:

Given that No. 1 seems to be the winner, a few comments on the design -

- Tiles on the window sills? It seems that you variate between tiled and untiled floors, but it would be more consistent to tile the window sills when the floor is tiled. I'd go with light grey, although dark grey or bley could give a nice accent. If you're looking for a non-parts intensive design, tiling won't help, as you may need to recess the into the wa;; beneath, or raise the arches and columns by 1 plate.

-The 1x2 log bricks won't match the round bricks on the ends when they're all connected together. For this reason, I prefer the arches in number 4. You could implement a system whereby you use 1x2 log bricks at one end, so it sticks out, but slides into the next hall section, where there is a slot for it.

-I can't say I'm a fan of the 1x4x2 arches; plus, you could extend the column decoration up by 1 brick if you use normal 1x4 arches.

-Is there any reason for using studs instead of 1x1 plates for the module connections?

I'm assuming that you'll do corner sections as well?
