tin7_creations Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I'm actually snowed in right now, and I ran out of brasso and can't really go out and buy it. I was wondering what other alternatives there are. I've used an eraser, and don't really envy repeating the experience. Are there any other alternatives besides an eraser? Thanks Quote
Tanotrooper Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 If you would have one, a scalpel. Some say it only removes the paint layer and doesn't damage the pice itself... TT Quote
SlyOwl Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Toothpaste can work, although it will scratch the piece more than brasso as it cleans by abrasion, whereas brasso works chemically. Quote

NewRight Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 A regular pencil eraser works as nicely as brasso. Photo is by Monkfish44 on FlickR. Quote
Skelotic Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I forget what the ingredient is but it is in nail polish remover (which I use) and in the unsuggested but still works super glue. Quote
