Ahoy. This one's a CCCVI entry, and while it's not intended to be the White Heron Castle, Himeji-jō, it has definitely been inspired by it. The angled angled wall technique has been inspired by Exotrator.

Ooh, I love it! It has so many details, a great river with a (man or woman?) fishing with the ninja sneaking up behind him/her, the guards meeting the other guy, the roof lining, the rice paddy, everything is just pure awesome.

Great job oo7!

Lovely MOC oo7! :cry_happy:

The design of the building is beautiful, and really has an oriental feel to it. Your roof technique is superb.

Great work on the landscaping as well. Stunning work in all aspects!

This is truly a superb creation, especially since it's feudal Japanese, which is something you don't see much in this forum (despite there being a whole Ninja-theme). All the details are fantastic, and really show that you have studied what the structures of that era look like - for example, the red torii in the front.

In my opinion the angle of the pictures don't do the creation enough justice, though, since the fortress is just a facade. I can only imagine how grand it would look in a picture taken from the low front. That way the fortress and especially the tower would look taller and more imposing, like it should.

But I do absolutely love this MOC!

This is really awesome! The technique used for the roof is perfect for this architectural style, and I especially love the peaceful little garden to the side.

Hmm...Good question; man or woman. I've used a somewhat manly head, but I suppose it still could pass for a woman even so...Thanks.

Saw this on the Brothers Brick blog, and I'm still in awe. The little details are amazing, and the roof work is really well done.

Yeah, Josh was very kind to blog that there. Thanks!

Thank you for the thoughtful comments, Sandy. I had thought of taking a picture birds eye sort of picture from the top the main castle fortification looking out so that you got a view of all the roof tiers layered on top of each other, but since the CCC only allows three photographs, I decided to take the ones with the most detail as possible.

At the risk of sounding repetitive - the roof is awesome! :oh:

like the cherry blossom (I assume?) trees too!

cheers,

timbutnice

You risk has been worth the gamble. :classic: And the flowering tree that's back by the waterfall is indeed intended to be a sakura cherry while the dark red one by the rice paddy is meant to be a Japanese Maple.

Thanks again, everyone, your feedback is appreciated very much.

oo7, you never failed to impress me with your medieval ancient Japan creations. This castle lived by the Feudal lord is grand and impressive. In fact, there are so much details which you have put in such as the roof top and shrine. By the way, I have noticed that you have combine the scenie samurai cottage into this massive creation. Well done, and keep building. I always enjoyed such oriential mocs.

Wow, this is superb oo7!

Where do I start? The roof is simply stunning, very Japanese, and I love the contrast between the white and the dark grey. The MOC is really bustling with life, I love all of the details you've put outside of the fortress, such as the falling leaves, rice paddy and the vegetation along the river bank. The minifigs you've made look very authentic, very clever uses of the deatheater head, skellie-sword and Lando helmet. The entrance to the fortress is superb, I adore the torii you've made, as well as those lamps (?) outside the gate. The whole MOC looks even nicer with the addition of your tea house MOC, which does well to make the whole scene look more tranquil.

Before I start babbling, I'll conclude by saying that this is a wonderful MOC. Like Sandy, I too would love to see some more photos of this masterpiece.

Beautiful, beautiful architecture! I love the roofing and the foliage- great zen representation. I also really like that red gate... sorry, I forget what it's called...

By the way, did you reuse some of the elements from your previous Japanese MOC, the Dayamo Tea House?

Yes, I did indeed incorporate (and even expand) the tea house. Thanks for your appreciation, WhiteFang.

Thank you for thoughtful comments. You're right about the lamps, they're traditional Japanese stone lanterns. More decorative than practical, actually. I'll try and get some more photos in response to this demand here, but I might want to wait until after the contest entry has been accepted by CC, for I don't want to mess around with my photo count in fear of rule breaking.....

Sandy and Tiny Pies mentioned the name of gate, it's a torii, a relic of Shinto spiritualism. And yes, these last couple posts have been pointing that out a lot, I did include that tea house I made a while ago, named for the titular feudal rank of lordship, daimyo. Thanks.

Wow! This is very good! The roofing, the nature in it... You've done a very nice job! I even believe this could be a winner!

Ah, thank you. It's only a shame I didn't take the good quality pictures you see here in time for the contest...

That's an absolutely amazing MOC, oo7! :oh:

I really  it!

The architecture and the details are more than 100 percent perfect! :oh:

I really like the rice field with the little wooden tower. Your awesome tea house with the water fall is a perfect addition to the Ninja castle!

Very, very well done!

Ah, no I hadn't realized. That's quite blatantly the source of the new replies then, awesome! Fun backstory too, even if I'd have to question the historical aspect of it. Thank you very much for that honor, and thanks to you two; Klaus and Asuka for the further feedback!

Also, I'm not sure if Sandy's still interested here, but I did take a shot or two from angles similar to what she suggested.

Probably should have posted them here sooner.

We have to incorporate the fun part and relate history in it to make it looks even more enjoyable for the readers, I hope.

007: This is another fantastic creation from you. I honestly have not seen any creation by you that is not excellent.

Your Daimyo Tea House is also featured on Classic-Town.net (a little further down), which makes a great part of this creation. I hope you don't mind that we took the liberty of photo-editing your work for our Asian Adventure.

This is a nice piece of work. I love the wall railings, fig choices, and all round concentration of compressed detail.

Thanks for sharing and God Bless,

Nathan
