eti Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Ik keep both buckets and balls in the big container with 'objects', along with shovels, brooms, swords and so on. I found out that that wasn't a smart thing to do. A ball got stuck in a bucket and there's no way I can get it out. It's completely stuck. Stupid innit? Little design flaw from Lego if you ask me... Can anybody help me getting it out? I'd love to be able to use the bucket and the ball again, separately. Thanks! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 (edited) This has been a problem for me many times.... The best thing you can try is to get a thick needle or pin and push it through the small hole in the centre of the base. A pin nail (one of the little ones) could also work. You have to use a thick pin/needle or else it will bend. It worked for me hope it works for you. (minor grammer edit) Edited December 25, 2008 by Peppermint_M Quote

Peppermint_M Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Try a hooked pin to pull them out, or a darning needle. Quote
CopMike Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Tough call there! Put the whole thing in the freezer to get it really cool. Them warm water and put the bucket ball up in it, without flooding the ball. Keep the water hot, without harming the bucket. The bucket should then increasy in size and the ball will still be a bit shrunken and hopefully they will seperate ! Good luck! CopMike Quote
Oky Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Funny. That's actually a problem I would have expected to happen to Sinner! But yeah, poking something through the bottom is probably the best idea. Quote
natelite Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 why risk destroying a perfectly good piece by poking a needle/pin through the bottom? best to just follow copmike's guidelines... or my advise is probably better suited since lego pieces get damaged if stored below 2 oC or higher than 42 oC. how do i know? this info was printed in the earlier catalogs (from 1980s). here's what you can do... just flip the bucket upside down and run it through the hot water tap. make sure you do not scald yourself or the lego piece...(make sure the water is not too hot). if it is too hot for your hand it is too hot for the lego (remember the 40 oC rule). after 1 min or so, the bucket should have expanded enough to drop the ball. make sure you plug the sink hole though before you start or you might fail to catch the ball and it is lost in the drain. Capt. Kirk Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 (edited) You also can try to use a "compresseur"... sorry don't know the English word. Put the airpistol on the back of the bucket and blowwww... I think this will work. Le Compresseur (Fr) Edited December 27, 2008 by Capt. Kirk Quote
Darth_Legois Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I've got a motorcycle helmet piece stuck in a garbage can piece that refuses to come out. Same happened to me! I was like "WTH!?!?!" I got it out but it was scratched I used a lightsabre blade to poke from the bottom but that didnt work so I used a kitchen knife. Quote
JimBee Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Get a walrus to do it. But really, I think that soap or grease should work fine. If not, I would apply CopMike's scientific solution, and heat up the bucket so it expands. Good luck! Quote

xchanius Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Not sure if anyone still needs the answer to this, but I just solved this problem. I had a motorcycle helmet wedged tight in a green garbage can. Tried tape, to suck it out, etc. The simple answer is to use an Exacto knife which you can slide in down the side, and with gentle pressure, and keeping the can upside down, you can coax the helmet out without damaging it.
