There's 2 Toys R Us tores in Ottawa... and the one on Merivale Rd has not had any of the minifigures for 1.5 months! (according to the store clerk)

Well they're back on the shelves today just only at Metropolis TRU. I came, saw two fresh boxes, had NOBODY to compete with, and spent some fifteen good minutes to get one complete set.

Talk about a stroke of good luck! Me happy! :classic:

Sweet! Talk about being at the right place at the right time. I haven't had any in-store luck yet.

Maybe you should buy a MaxMillion lottery ticket too. :classic:

I was just there yesterday on tuesday and the shelve was still empty there. Were they near the front of the store in a shelve with lots of small impulse sets?

You can't miss it; it's on a stand-alone shelf together with some hoth battle packs and the Toy Story Army Men (which, by the way, was on discount at 9.99 or 10.99). It's facing the check-out counters and to the left when you enter the store, and just in front of the Nerf guns.

Thats the shelve i was talking bout. I was there the on the 22nd and they had none. But its ok since I have most of the figures anyways. They have 1 AT-TE left if anyone in that area.

US Target Exclusive. Was hoping Zellers was going to bring this in...didn't look too likely given they've had TS3 for awhile and even a sale.

Went to S@H instead. (Or I could've waited another month for that LEGO store to open up at Chinook in Calgary :sceptic: )

Ya, I've checked Zellers many times and no dice, saw it @ Target and thought "what the heck".. I think I will return it though, too expensive for the amount of lego you get..

Zellers usually get Target's exclusives. I've seen the pirate tank once at Zellers. They had a whole bunch at one time and then stopped getting them for some reason. I think the pizza truck will be available at Zellers but will be rare since they barley stock.

Has anyone seent he LEGO games in Canada? I can't find them anywhere.

No lego games seen at any canadian retailers. Legoshop had them for a few weeks and then they made them unavailable to canada again. However, a Teletoon tour will be happening this summer and people will get to tryout the new lego games. I assume the games will eventually be sold in Canada.

The Canadian TRU site has loads of new sets listed. Most of them are not yet available, and instead listed as "Out of Stock", but at least you can see what the prices will be like.

Some of the new stuff listed includes:

-Games (around 10 of them, I believe them to be all from the first wave except for the Harry Potter one)

-Star Wars, basically all the new stuff (Slave 1 etc.) save for the newest AT-AT and UCS Shuttle

-Some of the new Hero Factory stuff

-All the new Technic stuff (Motorized Excavator etc.)

-Trains

-Public Transport, $140 ouch!

Hopefully this means that all of these sets will be making their way into stores sometime in the near future!

Aw, great. I need your help. Before long, my TRU is gonna have the Slave 1, Temple of Doom, and AT-TE. Which one should I get first?

Be sure to re-post your question in the "What LEGO Set Should I Buy" thread for additional feedback.

My thoughts though - I own both the Temple of Doom and the AT-TE, and like them both very much. Out of the three sets that you've listed, I'd definitely say to get the AT-TE first, as its been around the longest and will be extremely hard to find soon.

More thoughts - If you're a parts/price ratio guy, the AT-TE is the best value. The set is surprisingly large, and quite a lot of fun to play around with (more so when combined with the Gunship, Separatist Spider Droid, and Hailfire Droid/Spider droid).

The Temple of Doom is a very satisfying set to own, however it is quite pricy, and you need to make sure you've got plenty of room if you plan on displaying it. The minifigures are definitely the best part of this set (and in my opinion better than the figs in the other two sets you're looking to buy). The mine cart requires a bit of modding to work properly otherwise the minifigures will smash their heads and get stuck while going under one of the traps (this is a very easy fix). Overall, the set is massive and extremely fun to play around with.

Though I too plan on picking up the Slave 1, I will be doing so with some guilt. I don't normally complain about pricing, but in this case the cost of the set seems ridiculously high considering what you get. The ship is hardly a step up from the 2006 version (in fact, there are many aspects of the earlier version that I prefer) so again, I don't see the justification of the massive price increase. I am a fan of the new Boba Fett and other minifigures, but I'm apprehensive of any set whos biggest selling feature is the figs.

So in my opinion, if you really want those three sets, get the AT-TE first, then the Temple of Doom, then the Slave 1 (especially keep an eye out for it on sale).

Oh! I almost forgot about that! A month already? Wow!

Grand Opening has been set for July 16-18th.

I've heard rumours of a soft opening on July 8th.

Now that LEGO has Loyalty Points there might be "some" advantages to paying MSRP at the LEGO store.

Mores sales by any store would still be appreciated though! :laugh:

I haven't gotten a nurse either. But I did get zombie and robot that I wanted.

I wanted the zombie and did'nt get it yet. In the package I was hoping for it...But it was the stupid nurse. :(

PlayValue Toys finally has the minifigures in stock at the front cash for $2.99 each

It is a full case, I believe they may have another case or 2...

... and they confirmed that they have already ordered a few boxes for Series 2!!! YAY!
