Hi guys,

I have tried printing out decals on various types of white paper but have never been satisfied with the results so I have gone and bought some decal paper (I just hope its the right stuff) and want to try it out. The problem I have is I can't work out what colour to make "invisible" ie if I am printing a decal for a red torso how do I print all the colours except red so this comes from the torso I am applying the decal to? At the moment I am trying to make torsos in paint and print from word so I can resize them correctly but if this is not the way to do it please let me know.

Many thanks,

John

Once the decal is applied it's all down to the varish you use afterwards..

Water based varnish will dry the same colour as the decal - ie White shows up as white.

Solvent based varnish will dry clear - ie white is transparent.

Remember that if you put light colours (decal) onto a dark coloued torso and use solvent based varnish the colour of the torso will overpower the decal colour.

You should play around a little - work on the theory that dark torso - Water based - Light torso Solvent based varnish
