Beagle Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 For the handful of Americans out there.... Just saw today that my local TRU is having a "Buy 2 sets, get a third free" sale on all Lego. I live in Nortern California, but I'm not sure if this is nationwide. They also had a good selection of both the Viking and Dino lines. It was the first time I had seen the Viking stuff in person.... pretty exciting! :)
SuvieD Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Confirmed, TRU in MN also has this sale. It is for the birthday of the giraffe mascot. Buy 2 get one free. Which is effectively 33% off each set. Which is not bad at all :D .
RocketMan Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 We have the same deal in Germany. But you only get the cheapest one of the three sets for free, so technically it's only 33% off if they all cost the same.
Christian Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Tru in Denmark are having 50% off all LEGO's. wich includes the new viking series *viki*
SuvieD Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Very true but you have to pay more than the US does so it almost balances out to 33% (if all the same set) for everyone. This isn't for all sets but often our 19.99 dollar set is 19.99 euro. Which obviously is not the same cost. I think this will be changing but anyway you look at it LEGO is expensive.
Beagle Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 I just found out, this sale is also available online at toysrus.com. Which is great since the online selection is much bigger than what is on the shelves in most stores. 33% off everything if you play it right.... might be time for me to do some stocking up!
Legoman Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 i think they just want to make room for the new lego star wars sets :$ :-D
Mr. Lego-builder Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 If I'm not mistaken, they do this every year, with each year with different toys in the sale. :)
gylman Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Sigh. Nothing in Canada. Nothing at S@H, nothing at TRU. I know the Vikings will eventually come here (heck, they discovered Canada >1000 years ago, and are long overdue to return) but the waiting is killing me! :'( Gyl EDIT: argh, couldn't stand it anymore. Bought the full set on eBay. Probably will end up costing less than buying them in Canada anyway given our very strong doller and avoidance of taxes (assuming I can dodge customs *twisted* ).
